37: letter

"Here it is." Sunghoon said as he passed the letter to her.

She opened it, seeing several words on the brown paper. Upon opening it, gardenia petals fell out causing her to smile so happily.

Examining the letter she began to realize she couldn't read it. The last time she looked at hangul was when she was just 5.

"Uhm, Sunghoon, do you mind reading it to me? I can't really read this." She said shyly.

Sunghoon wasn't the happiest hearing her words, it meant he would have to read whatever love letter it was, but he knew it would make her happy, so he did as she asked.

Dear Choon Hee,

Hello love, you can see now can't you? That I'm also sure of. I'm sorry i'm not able to make it there. But first i would like to tell you these things.

Do you know how how happy I am to have met you? When we first met at your apartment, for some reason I knew we'd end up as good friends. Us both, not having many friends but meeting each other was such a blessing. Imagine you never ordered those gardenias, I don't even know what I'd be doing now.

Remember when we walked to the park together? That moment, when you felt my face, I knew I liked you more than just a friend. It felt illegal at first, 'why do i feel like this already?', i thought. You mentioned your blindness often saying how you wanted to see again. Remember how I told you would? See? I was right wasn't i?

Park Choon Hee, you're the best thing to have ever happened to me. 

In the middle of writing this, I realized you probably can't read on your own yet.

Ah, Sunghoon is probably reading this to you isn't he. He's a good guy. And because of this, I hope you've kept my lovely words in your head from before because I feel bad having him read this aloud haha><

My gardenia, I'm afraid you won't be able to see me in person anymore. My love please listen, i know i promised i will stay with you forever. And keeping my promise, I will. I will stay with you forever. To be honest, by now I'm probably waiting for you right now.

When Sunghoon was done reading, he slowly looked up to see Choon Hee in tears.

He didn't want to say anything, knowing how much pain she must be in.

He still couldn't get a picture of what Jungwon meant.

"I will stay with you forever. This is where I say goodbye." What's that even mean?

He looked back at the girl, "I'm sorry." was all he could say.

He leaned in to hug the girl, which to his surprise hugged back.

"Does he not love me anymore?" She said crying into his shoulder.

"No, silly did you not listen to anything he had to say? He loves you so much. He loves you so much that he left for a good reason. I'm not sure for what, but I know that the reason he did for you."
