Sunghoon's POV:
I felt weird. Not the same. I had nothing to look forward to. My daily routine is still the same and all but it was almost robotic. I knew the reason but didn't want to admit it.
Choon Hee. She was what's missing. It's been 2 weeks? I'm not sure anymore but I haven't seen her since. It was probably bad that I thought of her this much, I don't even know if she'd even have a little of what I feel for her, for me. Does she miss me? Does she hate me and my family for what happened?
I hated this feeling, a feeling I want to get rid of. I kept scolding myself thinking, you shouldn't be this way over a girl. Do you seriously still have hope?
I headed downstairs to see my mom on the couch watching TV. "Hey, could you please take out the trash for me?" Nodding, I headed to the kitchen doing what I was told. I was thinking of how I could possibly see Choon Hee again. However, am I allowed, or yet even, would she even want to see me?
------
I walked up the steps to their apartment though a voice in my head is telling me to go back. I knocked on the door hearing footsteps approaching. My guess was Jay saw me through the peephole due to the silence afterwards. I looked down, trying to be patient and understanding.
After a minute, the door was opened, still no words were spoken. I walked in, gently closing the door behind me. I stood by the counter as Jay filled two glasses of water. He sighed but to my surprise he looked at me with a side smile. "How have you been?", he asked taking a sip of his drink. Trying to be as relaxed as possible I replied, "Could be better."
We both nodded in agreement. I was relieved he didn't hold too much of a grudge on me, or at least tried not to show it. I had almost forgot the reason I came until a room door opened.
She was right there, standing with the same smile as before.
"Wait who's here?", she asked with a cheerful tone. "Sunghoon." Jay replied. A feeling of happiness swept through me when a huge smile ran across her face. "Hey."
She came walking up to me wrapping her arms around my body. I gulped not knowing how to react, also regarding the fact Jay was there as well. "Sunghoon I missed you so much!" My heart began to skip beats causing me to gently let go of her. "Did you really?", I laughed off. "Of course! I was actually worried you wouldn't come to see me anymore."
Silly. You thought I wouldn't want to see you?
Jay then walked over to the couch leaving us alone. Well I wouldn't call it alone, it was just a few feet away but you get what I mean.
"So-", she paused at her sentence, leading me to have an idea of what was coming next. "How's your family?" I took a seat on the bar stool and thought about what to say. "Not bad.", was all I could come up with.
"Have you been skating lately?" "No, not really." She frowned at my response, "Why not? I thought you learned to enjoy it again."
She wasn't wrong, I did enjoy it again. Just lately I haven't been in the mood for anything. "Don't worry about me. How about you what's been going on?" She pursed her lips thinking about my question, then a smile peeked out of her mouth. But before she could speak Jay spoke up.
"Why don't you guys come over here? Kind of leaving me hanging here.", he said laughing. I then sat on the recliner while Choon Hee sat on the other side of the love seat next to Jay.
I really liked Jay, he was a good friend. I envied him and his family's relationship. He seems to have been raised well knowing how well he treats his sister and our friendship. I was quite worried our friendship would be broken due to trust and all, but he seems to cherish our relationship more than the drama in between. I'm very appreciative of that.
"So have you and Jake caught up at all?", he asked. "Yeah, we text here and there but everything seems to be normal. How's school for you?" "Going well, we have an end of the quarter type test coming up but I'm not to worried about it."
Jay's phone started to ring, causing the three of us to look up. "Oh it's Jungwon." "Can I answer?" Choon Hee quickly asked. She seemed quite excited, maybe she hasn't seen him for a while either.
"Jungwon!", she spoke. Seemed a bit too enthusiastic if you ask me.
"Wait really? I'll ask!" She then turned to Jay, "Jungwon asked if he can take me to the beach tomorrow! Can I go please?"
"I'm not sure-" "Please! If you want you can supervise! Please!"
I've never seen her this excited about a trip, at least she was never like that when I took her places.
Jay sighed, "Ok fine. But I'm going to ask a friend to go because there's no way I'm third wheeling your little date."
Little what? I wasn't sure whether I was overthinking or heard wrong. My mind went blank as I stared at the floor.
"Sunghoon. Sunghoon?" I flinched as I looked up to Jay. "You good?" "Oh, yeah I'm fine." "Ok just checking. I was just about to ask if you wanted to come with us tomorrow? I don't want to be alone so will you come? I have badminton rackets and shuttlecocks we could play with."
My mind was still busy not knowing what to say, "Oh yeah sure, I'm free anyways."
I couldn't believe it, I was going to accompany Choon Hee's so called date. What am I to do?
