"James, do you see him?"

"No, he's not on the field yet. I think he's still changing."

"You think he will like surprise, non?"

"Well we've never come to any of his cheer practices so most definitely."

Lafayette nods and looks out at the field through his camera lens. He zooms in and spots Hercules walking over to the group of cheerleaders. Instead of his usual skirt uniform, he's wearing a pair of shorts and a T-shirt. The group breaks up when he joins them and get into a uniform line. He starts talking and then blows a whistle he has, starting off a series of workouts.

The actual coach sits nearby and monitors the practice. Lafayette records some of it for a video he's making in his photography class. James scrolls on his phone the entire time and Alexander joins them after a while. They're sitting there for about two hours before the practice ends. When it does, Hercules grabs his water bottle and runs up the bleachers to where they were sitting.

"Hey guys. Haven't seen you come to my practice like- ever."

"We wanted to surprise you. Say cheese," Lafayette says and points his camera at him. Hercules awkward smiles and waves. "Herc, it's a video," he says after a moment. "You're an ass, you know that?" Hercules glares and responds. Lafayette turns the camera off and giggles. Hercules rolls his eyes and sits in his lap. "So who are we waiting on?" he asks.

"Thomas gets out of basketball in two minutes. So we can meet him in the parking lot," Alexander says. James smiles at his phone and mumbles. "Ooh someones texting their cruuussshhhh~" Alexander teases. James blushes and shoves him. Hercules laughs at them and plays with Lafayette's camera lens. Maria walks up the bleachers and looks at them.

"Herc, is that your boyfriend?"

Hercules blushes more than James. "No, shut it Maria," he says quickly. Alexander chuckles in knowing something everyone else doesn't. Maria rolls her eyes and continues back towards the top of the bleachers. "Come on, let's head home guys. I've got a test tomorrow," James says, standing up. They gather their things and Hercules gets out of Lafayette's lap. They head down the bleachers.

"Dad, we're home, Laffy and I are going upstairs. Homework," Hercules says, grabbing the other man's hand and dragging him upstairs with him. Hugh just watches them go. James scoffs. "Yeah, homework. Wonder how busy they're gonna be," he mumbles. Hugh shakes his head and continues putting groceries away.

Hercules and Lafayette go into Hercules' room and shut the door. They kick off their shoes and Lafayette takes off his hoodie, only to have it snatched by Hercules who puts it on and smiles. "I'm warm now," he says. Lafayette rolls his eyes and lays on his bed. Hercules lays on him, his back to his chest, and goes through his phone. Lafayette grabs his current book and reads it silently.

After the two initially became friends, Lafayette quickly found that Hercules was a usually straightforward person and required physical affection. Nothing too much, of course. Just hand holding and cuddling mostly. And Hercules likes to sit in Lafayette's lap which he doesn't mind. They often lay in Hercules' room for hours at a time in almost complete silence.

Hercules turns himself on his stomach and sits his phone down. Lafayette continues to read and shifts a bit so he was more comfortable. The smaller man audibly sighs in an attempt to catch Lafayette's attention. When it doesn't work, he takes his book, ignoring the protests from the other man. "What are you even reading? Game of Thr- oh," Hercules says. Lafayette blushes in embarrassment.
