Chapter 45

-A NIGHT WITH HIM-

Karina's POV

How can I face him right now? I don't even know what to do. Raven's smirk hasn't been wiped off his face when I came downstairs. They're already sitting on their seats and the only vacant one is on Raven's side. Ugh, of all seats why do it have to be beside him?

Not having any choice, I sat down on Raven's side as they all joined hand to pray. Raven took my hand in his as I felt the warmth of his skin slowly spreads to mine. He closed his eyes as I looked at him, he looks like an angel but God knows what's he like when he's on rage. I felt his grip tightened on my hand while Sophie is saying the prayer so I closed my eyes immediately. Did he felt my eyes on him? That's impossible.

After Sophie finished the prayer, we all started to dig in at the different and delicious foods in front of us. Sophie's a great cook so no doubt that the food she makes are delicious.

"So guys, how did you two met each other?" Kyle asked as I almost choked on the water that I'm drinking. Raven's hand found it's way behind my back as he rubs it soothingly. I plastered a wide forced smile on him while glaring at the same time.

"Actually, we are childhood friends." Raven is the one who spoke as he looked at me with those grey orbs of him. He looked so serious and genuine at this moment as if I saw the old Raven on him but that just lasted a short while before he looked away at my gaze.

Sophie, Francine and Sofia squealed at us as my cheeks turned crimson red. My heart is also beating so fast. Why?

"Relatable." Sophie commented while holding Kyle's hand, intertwining their fingers together. They look so cute.

"So you're childhood friends. Bless us how your love story started if you don't mind." Francine chimed in as she smiled at us. I smiled back before sipping water on my glass.

Looking at Raven expectantly that he would answer it, I felt his hand rested on my thigh. My whole body started to heat up as I squirmed on my seat, trying to yank off his hand but he just held it firmly and run it dangerously close to my core to keep me still and damn, he succeeded but I'm still on fire.

Clearing his throat, he smiled at them then started speaking, "I was the one who fell in love with her. When we were a child, I thought that what I'm feeling towards her is just the need to protect her but no... As we grew up, I realized my real feelings towards Karina. She's a beautiful lady, she fascinates me everytime.. she's like a deep ocean, so mysterious yet beautiful and full of secrets." Raven's eyes landed on me as I gulped hard, feeling my heart skipped a beat when his hand on my thigh disappears and found my hand, intertwining our fingers together like how couples do.

He continued, "I confessed my love for her one day and I'm surprised that she felt the same way with me. We spent time together, doing everything together and going on countless dates. This girl beside me is amazing and I love her so much." He finished before bringing my hand near his lips to give it a soft kiss that sent shivers down my spine, making my cheeks turned red and making the butterflies on my stomach goes wild. What is he saying?

Deep down, I want it to really happen. I want his lies to be the truth but we both know that half of it are all bitter lies. Reality sucks.

The ladies stared at us lovingly in adoration while hugging their husbands and boyfriend. If I were them, I would literally squeal and feel giddy on a love story like that. I wish.

"I love you." Raven uttered in a soft yet deep voice as he stared at my eyes deeply as if he's staring at my soul. What a great pretender.

Knowing it's all lies and games, I decided to tell him what I'm feeling towards him that I can't. "I love you too." And that's the truth, I love him since we were a child. To be honest, maybe I'm the one who fell in love with him first but I won't tell him that. It's better that way. I concealed my love for him because I assumed that Chelsea and him are a thing. Chelsea is one of our neighbors and she really likes Raven, they were both close so I assumed Raven liked her too and at that time, Jack is courting me so I decided to gave him a chance instead and buried my feelings for Raven but it turns out that I still have those feelings in me and they just became stronger and deeper than before.

"That's a beautiful love story not gonna lie. I really want something like that." Lily muttered in a soft voice while giggling.

"I would give you that love story but we're not childhood friends." Chase pouted then rested his head on Lily's shoulder as she raked her fingers through his hair.

"It's fine babe, this love story you're giving me right now is the best." She mumbled softly as Chase's face lights up.

"Raven, please don't hurt Karina. She's too precious to me. I love her so much so please take care of her and don't make her cry or else you'll have to fight me." Sophie spoked softly yet you can feel the threat in her voice while looking at Raven sincerely, I almost cried.

"I love you too couz." I smiled at her with glassy eyes as she smiled back at me sweetly.

"Us. You'll have to fight us. My wife's battle is also my battle." Kyle chimed in while hugging Sophie on her side.

"And Kyle's battle is our battle as well." Thorn mumbled as Bruce and Chase nodded their heads in agreement.

After the dinner, we spent time in their living room watching different movies until everyone decided to go to sleep for the big day tomorrow.

"You're in trouble Raven. Seems like you'll have to fight them all." I joked the moment we entered our bedroom. Raven didn't said anything as he went inside the bathroom then moments later I heard the water running inside.
He's maybe taking a shower.

Shrugging my shoulders, I walked towards the nightstand and picked up my phone to inform Aria that we arrived here safe and sound. I texted Hiro too, knowing that he's worried at me.

"I'll fight them all for you." I jumped, startled by Raven's sudden appearance on my back. What the fuck is he doing there anyway?

"You scared me! Don't do that ever again." I scolded him as I tried to calm my heart from beating so fast in fear and I swear I regretted dragging my eyes down his bare toned chest. Droplets of water from his hair runs down his chest to his abdomen as I gulped hard. He have eight packs of abs and they looked so freaking hard and firm. Oh my god. The water died down on the towel that's wrapped around his waist. I can see the V shape on his waist as soft hair trails down his massive member—

"Take a picture, it'll last longer." Oh fuck!

"W-what are you talking about?" I hissed at him as my face flushed red. Raven's smirking at me then licked his lower lip as I turned around instantly when he holds the towel on his waist, attempting to remove it in front of me or so that's what I thought.

I heard him chuckle and as I turned around to face him, he's already walking inside the walk in closet. Phew.

I wanted to take a shower so much but I don't have that much time so I just grabbed my pj's and hurriedly changed on them before Raven could walk out the closet. I grabbed two pillows from the bed and a blanket as I carried them towards the couch when Raven saw me.

"What do you think are you doing?" He questioned, his eyes are squinted while looking at me as if he caught me stealing things.

"W-what do you think?" I questioned back then dropped the pillows on the couch. "You'll sleep on the bed and I'll sleep here on the couch. Now, goodnight I'm already sleepy." I fake yawned while stretching my hands up in the air, silently praying that he'll let me but he's got other plan because by the time that I moved to lay down on the couch, he grabbed my arm and dragged me towards the bed.

He pushed me down the bed as he laid down beside me, turning off the lights as my heart beat sped up.

"W-what are you—" I paused when I felt his arms around my waist as he nuzzles his nose on the crook of my neck making me gasp.

"Don't think of anything. Just sleep." Raven mumbled, his lips brushing against my neck as I fought back a moan then nodded my head slowly, closing my eyes and doing the thing he told me.

God, spending a night with this man makes me go insane.
