-COLD AND UNEXPLAINABLE-

Karina's POV

"Here's your locker." The girl who's named Tasha pointed the furthest part of the locker room as we walked to it. I still can't believe this. I applied for chef and I got the position of a waiter. I mean, I'm not that complaining about it, I'm just disappointed. I thought this is the opportunity I've been waiting for my whole life but it turns out that it's not. Well, everything starts on little things right? So I guess it's good that at least I got a job to survive.

"Thanks." I meekly mumbled as I took my own uniform out there when she glared at me. "If you're done changing, go outside so you can start your work." And with that she turned on her heels and went out the room. Okay, that looks rude– she looks rude–no, she's rude.

Sighing deeply, I looked at my uniform then proceeded on wearing it at the little bathroom inside. I looked at my reflection on the mirror as I pursed my lips in a thin line before deciding on putting my hair on a ponytail then straightened my uniform, trying to look presentable as I went out the room where Tasha is standing and leaning on the wall, looking at her red nails. She's wearing the same uniform as I am but hers is a little shorter than mine. Thank goodness mine isn't like that because I don't really want to wear something that short.

"Hey." I voiced out trying to gain her attention and she turned to me with a frown on her face. It's my first day and I guess I'm already making an enemy.

"Follow me." She gestured with her finger as I followed her from behind. Is she an upper or what? She looks so bossy and now I'm missing my Aria. I wish she's here right now to defend me but now I'm on my own. I can do this..right?

"Here's the kitchen." She said as she opened a double door revealing the insides of the kitchen. Oh my God, is everything here a high class? I've been to a hotel when I was a kid because my dad always brings me to his workplace when he have the chance but the kitchen is nothing like this. Actually, I want to be a chef like him but because of some horrible incidents, I didn't have the chance that's why I'm feeling disappointed a while ago and even now. I want to work here in the kitchen and cook for the people who comes here. I want to see their reactions while they're eating the food I make and the smile their gonna wear when they leave here. I want them to remember my work but now, sadly I can't do all of that. I'm a waitress here. I serve food to them not cook it for them.

After telling me what to do which I already knew half of it because I worked as a waitress on my previous work, Tasha walked away from me not caring if I got what she said or not and went on her own work.

Looking around, I spotted peoples who's wearing the same uniform as mine. The uniform looks nice tho, it consists a pure white polo and a black skirt that reached just above my knees and a black three inch high heels which made my legs looks long and a black apron for cleanliness.

"Get to work!" A voice snapped at me and when I looked, I found Tasha glaring at me with her eyes as she shove a tray of food on me. Thanks to my reflexes, I balanced it well before the contents fall on the floor then she walked away again.

"Don't mind her. She's just like that because Mister Montgomery isn't noticing her." I spun slowly as I was met with a little girl with a smiling lips.

"Mister Mont– wait, our boss?" I exclaimed softly as she nodded her head at me.

"Yes and I know right. She's dreaming the impossible, as if Mister Montgomery would take a look at her. Oh, by the way my name is Aya, and you?" She offered her hand at me as I looked at her confusedly but then took her hand for a shake with my free hand, the other one balancing the tray as I smiled at her. She seems nice. "Nice meeting you Aya, I'm Karina."

"Same to you. Let's go back to work by the way before she spots us again and acts like a boss." She glared behind me where Tasha is standing as we both giggled then separated as Tasha walked over us.

The day went fine with a few scoldings here and there but thankfully I did my work just well. Tasha is so rude but Aya kept on defending me, saying that I'm still new that's why I'm not that good at it yet. I'm so scared that I might get fired again tho because I somehow tripped  accidentally when I'm walking and broke some plates and spilled some water on the floor but no one tried to discuss it with me except Tasha, she scolded me furiously and I can't help but to shut my mouth as I took her words in.

"If I were you I'd slapped that bitch." Aya, on my side frowned while taking off her apron and placed it inside her locker.

"So she can slap me back harder?" I shook my head while doing the same with my apron.

"Maybe? Gosh no, of course you'll strike harder than her again." She rolled her eyes as she flipped her short black hair on her shoulder before getting her bag inside her locker. Our shift is already over and it's already pass six in the evening. The others already left earlier than us and some of them are still resting a bit so we're alone in here right now.

"I don't want to loose my job again by cat fighting." I sighed as she looked at me with a saddened expression. I told her what happened to my job and the problem on my apartment.

"I'm sorry about that. Well, I have to go before that witch come here. You should go too." After that, she went out the room and I did the same after getting my bag inside.

The cold breeze of air greeted me once I step my foot out of the hotel. My shoulders and back aches, same goes to my foot and legs. I'm feeling so tired and my head is aching a bit.

Looking around, I spotted a black car not so far from where I'm standing. It's not moving at all the so I assumed that it's parked in there and there's no people inside but that changed when I felt a sudden chill that run down my spine. I felt my body became frozen on the spot and there's a sudden lump that's blocking my throat. What's happening?

I can't see what or who's inside the car because the windows are tinted in black but I know that the intense and cold aura is coming from there. It's too cold and unexplainable.

Moments later of staring at the car, I saw a cab pulled in front of me and I opened it rushingly then went inside, grabbing the chance to escape that intensity.

Whoever is inside the car, his aura is dangerous and it's giving me the feeling of a bad news. I can't stand it.

My knees are all wobbly when I went out of the car. I'm surprised I managed to get inside my apartment without stumbling.

I just hope bad things won't come my way because I'm already tired of it.

I've had enough.
