I used Jay and Nick's arrival as an excuse to get a hotel room and leave Kennedy’s place. Swamped with wedding stuff and a particularly demanding project at work, Aiden needed calm. He also needed his girl and some privacy.

I chose a modern five-star hotel with an expansive view of the Parisian skyline from the rooftop. The room was how I liked it —  spacious, with a comfortable bed and a big shower. After checking in and unpacking, I rushed to the airport.

People streamed past me as I stood in the middle of the Arrivals terminal, waiting for the guys. Jay, Nick, and I would play at Kennedy's wedding in a week. The success of our latest single flooded us with offers of interviews from several French magazines, and we wanted to use the days before the event to do more promo.

Jay appeared first, smiling as he headed toward me, followed by Nicholas.

"Hey." I hugged him. "How was the flight?"

Jay sighed. "Long. Let's get moving. This bitch is heavy."

He lifted the hard guitar case and rolled his eyes when Nick gave me an extra-long hug.

"Come on." I laughed. "I have a car."

"Good thinking, Jimmy boy." Jay winked.

We made our way to the parking lot. "Kennedy's getting married in Étretat. We'll need something bigger for the equipment, but this one will do for now," I said, unlocking the door of the Bugatti I rented.

"Sleek," Nick said, plopping down in the backseat, his guitar next to him.

I glanced at Jay. "What's new back home?"

"I guess you already know Fire and Rain is in the top five in the charts."

"Wyatt told me, yeah."

"He misses you, man. He also calls Andre almost daily, just so you know."

I changed lanes, careful to follow the directions for downtown Paris. "Awesome. Now I can sleep at night."

The guys snickered.

"How's Kennedy?" Nick asked.

"We'll hang out with him tomorrow. The guy's busy. I'd rather we didn't pester him today."

"Weddings are nice," Jay said. "Free booze, lots of food."

"People in love."

Jay groaned. "Yeah, Nicholas. They kinda get married for a reason."

"Smack him, Jim." Nick huffed. "His bitter ass spoiled the flight for me."

I looked at Jason. He absent-mindedly stared at the traffic behind the car window, ignoring Nick.

When I parked at the hotel, the guys checked in and went to their rooms. Nick was going to take a nap, but Jay said nothing about his plans.

I waited half an hour and went to knock on his door.
