Yoongi's pov

*the day Yoongi and Jimin met for the first time*

Luck. Some say life is all about luck and fate, some say that no matter how much you fight hoping to achieve something if the said fate is against it, you won't. Yoongi likes to think otherwise though. Yoongi thinks that life is something that only you can control, and the directions you go in are always the results of your choices.

He didn't know whether he made the right choice trusting his instincts, going against his brother's wish, risking his safety for yet another dumb idea but here he was.

Before starting to make an action plan, Yoongi had done a bit of research. Based on the information he managed to get on Jimin, which wasn't much, he at least managed to find out that the detective was an expensive one, to say the least, and very popular amongst private investigators.

Among all the choices he had on approaching him, he chose one of the most exciting ones, betting on Jimin's intelligence. Since he was a good detective, Yoongi was sure there were high chances to have the detective chase him, as long as he played a mystery card.

And maybe it was fate that helped Yoongi's plan go smoothly, but maybe Yoongi wouldn't admit to that, because he was convinced that his cards have been played meticulously well.

Yoongi almost dropped his cigarette the moment the detective exited the tall office building, followed by a younger and full-of-life officer. He figured he was going to follow his car, just for a bit, maybe overhear a conversation, anything that could turn into an opportunity, but the odds were on his side that day when Jimin mentioned the name of a bar.

He had the man and the location. Yoongi smirked, finished his cigarette while thinking of a couple of scenarios on how to approach the detective, then after a couple of minutes he took a taxi, asking for the fastest route.

He arrived at the bar before the detective had the chance to. He congratulated himself and ordered a Whiskey on The Rocks.

To his delight, not many minutes later Detective Park and his partner joined the bar. Yoongi put on the laziest expression he had on hand (not that it was difficult for him) and waited.

Waited for the best opportunity.

To say he was completely taken aback by the further series of events would be an understatement for Yoongi. He was savoring his drink the first time when he felt he was being watched. But he wasn't being watched the way he expected, no, the detective was eyeing him, sometimes just with the corners of his eyes, other times entirely, with no shame. His stare would be lingering more than necessary on his body, and the plump, rosy lips more than inviting almost formed a seductive smile. The distance didn't quite help Yoongi see it clearly, but he was burning to have confirmation.

He didn't think too much into it. He didn't even remember if the move was a planned one, or whether he was hypnotized by the charms of the detective, but Yoongi played along.

It felt so natural to reply to Jimin's flirty look with one just as enticing as his. It was alluring. Everything about the detective was appealing, and Yoongi started considering that he shouldn't have gone for Whiskey on an empty stomach.

One thing he knew for sure, Jimin was a good catch. It wouldn't hurt admitting it, right?

Before meeting Detective Park, Yoongi has been in contact with Romeo for a while, who helped him with all the information he's got his hands on.
