Jimin's pov

|2nd of April, 2019|

The wind was warm and gentle that morning. It was just the beginning of April, but Jimin was driving with the car window rolled down, letting the soft spring breeze caress his cheeks and tousle his hair.

It's been some time since he had been driving down these roads. Memories were quickly rushing back to him, making him uneasy, so he reminded himself to deeply breathe in and out, as to calm down. At one point he held his breath for so long in his lungs before letting it out in a quick exhale, that it actually made him feel dizzy. More than a month had already passed since he last visited his mother.

Jimin hummed to a song playing on the radio, unconsciously singing along to the lyrics in his mind. It was a Britney Spears song, Criminal. Truly ironic, if one would ask.

He didn't really know why, but the song felt right for the atmosphere, for him at the time. After everything that happened, it left him feeling incomplete, but now Jimin finally began to feel right, to feel fine.

He was content, even though chaos surrounded him, still.

Nothing was necessarily solved or even going in the right direction if Jimin was, to be honest. They were still heads-deep into crap with their case. They didn't have the microchip or any clues as to where they could find it. The CIA was demanding answers and heads were going to roll soon enough. They still didn't know who poisoned Yoongi's men and why. Jimin's leg still hurt like a bitch, along with the other wounds he wore on his body, but...

But, Jimin felt right today.

He felt right because today he was going to tell his mother that he had finally found the people who took her away from him. Jimin was going to bring justice upon them, avenge his mother's life and she would finally be able to rest in peace.

Jimin's perception of rightful justice shifted over the last few months and he knew, that this, his sense of justice was slowly shifting into what he used to describe as two-faced.

The unfurling road ahead of him looked peaceful, reflecting Jimin's own calmness.

This was his second day off after he had been kidnapped and Jimin should have probably used this precious time to rest and heal, but he just couldn't stay at home; Not with the chaos they were still surrounded by, tapping on his shoulder and ruffling him, like an unfriendly reminder, every time Jimin tried to relax.
