Jimin's pov

Time passed slower than Jimin wished it would. His blood was pumping rapidly, whilst a knot in his chest made it hard for him to breathe. He was overwhelmed by the rush of emotions, too many and too confusing at once.

The second he arrived at the crime scene, he stepped out of the car and felt his stomach curl into a ball. Jimin was now familiar with the location, the huge, well-maintained farmhouse he had found Yoongi in just a couple of days before.

Yoongi was there just a couple of days before.

With each step he took while getting closer to the house, his emotions intensified. He couldn't ignore it anymore, the memory of what happened forced itself into Jimin's vision, and all he could see before his eyes was the image of him, standing there, staring at the wooden front door as Yoongi passed by him, eyes cold and pensive, as if they always been complete strangers.

The feeling, the chest pain was suffocating at first. Jimin felt as if someone was holding his heart in a tight grip; and every second of Jimin's memory, every painful feeling, just contributed to the ache.

Stabbed in the back by the only man he wanted to call his;

Before the pain could consume him, he stopped in his tracks. He needed to remind himself that there was only one truth that he had to digest. He was just a mere pawn in Yoongi's chess game and nothing else.

What he was going through right now, all of it is because of him.

Just for a bit, Jimin could feel the anger coming back. Truth be told, the pain was there, ever so present but the sadness and disappointment were stronger.

He was just a mere pawn in Yoongi's chess game and nothing else. He meant nothing to him.

He felt like throwing up, as cold shivers ran down his spine, shivers which he had to shake off, he couldn't let the memory distract him. He was more than that.

The entire yard, including the stairs, was now full of officers who restricted the area, investigating the crime that happened inside the house.

Jimin exhaled several times and tried his best to hide his emotions while walking toward Namjoon, who spotted him just in time.

"Detective Park, mornin'."

"Namjoon." Jimin didn't bother with the honorifics, just nodded his head instead before approaching. "What did I miss?" he rather stated than asked, both expression and voice, cold.

Namjoon ducked his head a bit, seemingly embarrassed. Jimin was sure his intentions weren't to make him feel excluded, but with all the things going on he wanted everyone to understand that he was not to be left out once again. "Sorry, Jimin, we really believed you needed a break and this...this isn't exactly something that would make you feel at ease... Yesterday was a tough day and- "

"Namjoon. Do I look like I want to talk about all of that? I requested a report, not a therapy session."

Namjoon was quick to nod his head in agreement, gesturing for Hoseok to join them. As Hoseok hand Jimin a file with the rapport, Namjoon summed things up for him a bit.

"Alright, so it's the poison game again. There are two Korean men who don't seem to be part of Miles' CIA team this time. Not as far as we know at least. We have no fucking clue who these two people are, to be frank. They seem to be normal citizens, with nothing on record. We had time to do a short inspection of the house and there is no evidence of Miles Gilbert ever living here, there are no traces of him at all."
