~the day Yoongi surrendered~

Jimin's pov

Jimin still didn't get it. He didn't want to believe it.

Everyone was in a rush, everyone was talking, debating, everyone was watching. The office was chaos and Jimin just stood there, three feet apart from the interrogation room, still stunned.

His best friend.

Yoongi.

Cuffs around their wrists and mouths sealed.

Jimin was shocked, but he couldn't feel anything else besides that. It was just... numbness.

He thought he would feel betrayed, sad, angry, or something along those lines; but with each passing minute, he just felt numb and warmed up to the idea that this was his reality now and that he won't ever be able to have someone trustworthy around him.

He didn't even care anymore at this point.

Not about Yoongi, not about Taehyung.

Thugs.

To think he almost fell in love with a convict? Jimin wanted to laugh, but it wasn't funny enough to do so. Yoongi was a murderer, and that's the only thing Jimin could see now.

A murderer which he had chased for so much time; not Min Yoongi, the boy whom he started to develop feelings for.

And maybe it was better this way; easier.

And truth to be told Jimin was affected, deep down. His pride had been stepped on, his skills as a detective had been underestimated and he was taken for a fool, which he didn't like at all.

The rest? The fact that he lost two important people on the same day, who could have meant the world to him? That didn't matter to Jimin. He simply didn't care.

He decided at that moment that he wouldn't let them hurt him anymore.

No one will ever hurt him again. It was enough of a shock to realize this bitter truth.

Jimin's biggest weakness was that his logical mind always suffered over his feelings.

Even when he knew that something was up, that something was strange, he shoved that logical side away, prioritizing his own feelings.

He was proud of his skills, of the way his mind was working, under pressure or not, he managed to grow up making logical decisions, focusing on improvement, progress, and logical thinking, and this alone had a great impact on his career.

But when it came to his personal life, as soon as he trusted someone and felt something for them, he acted on pure instinct for those people. That's why he had to put barriers between himself and other people. That's why he tried to stay away from people. That's why it was so hard for him to get close to someone.

He wanted his brain and mind to stay focused.

He failed to do it, hence the situation he found himself in.

Now everything was gone; and all Jimin could do was stare through the one-sided window that showed the inside of the interrogation room, with coldness and apathy.

Namjoon was currently inside the interrogation room. He was trying to convince Miles to speak, but apparently, it wasn't working at all, and Namjoon, who was so much more enduring compared to Jimin, was losing his patience, looking as if he was ready to throw punches at any second.
