To Be Different

Chapter 9.

Elaina and Hazel video called me during the night to apologize for the way they treated me.
I was so excited to finally hang with them that I even started seating next to them.

The door opens in it's dramatic way and Paul enters followed by Finn and Todd.

"Omg!" Hazel and Elaina say at the same time.

He stops to search something at the front seats.

Was he looking for me?

He looks around and his eyes meets mine.

My heart begins to thump in my chest.

He looks away fast and I thought I saw a hint of disappointment in his eyes.

He leaves to his place not sparing me any glance again.

"Wow. He's definitely hot El." Hazel says again in a whisper.

Elaina decides to agree with Hazel kindly shocking me more. "He's definitely the Greek God."

Okay.

Everything was getting weird so fast.

Did Elaina transform into a good person during the week?

What happened to hating everyone that mentioned Paul's name?

The final bell rings and the Bio teacher enters the class.

Luckily, he didn't go so far in the syllabus. I was still ahead of him.

I was so glad.

When the class ended, the teacher calls Paul and I to stay behind.

"We will wait for you outside." Elaina suggests immediately.

I nod and walk to the teacher.
Paul follows behind too.

I move aside to make way for him closer to the teacher but he follows me instead.

I move to the middle of the desk and he follows me again.

What's wrong with him?

I decide to just ignore.

Mr. Set ignores our childish attitude.

"The two of you are our best students and we have decided to give you guys extra classes."

Okay, what?

"No Sir." I say kindly. "I am ahead of the class already. Thank you for your concern."
He nods, impressed.

"And you, Mr. Martinez?" His gaze turn's to Paul's.

"I'm not but thanks. I can manage on my own."

Mr. Set nods in agreement. "If you change your minds. Let me know."

We both agree to this and he let's us go.

I hesitantly walk back to my seat in search of my pen.

Paul doesn't move from his position and I delay the search.

What is wrong with him?

Why wasn't he leaving?

He gives up after a while and leaves the class.

I wait for a few minutes before leaving the class too.

Elaina and Hazel rush to me but they were too late.

Someone grabs my hand and pulls me towards them.

Paul!

I'm self conscious again.
Why does he always do that?
