Have You Ever?

It shines and glimmers in the light
My reflection graced upon it
Have you ever seen such beauty?

I glance at the pristine, unharmed surface
Ethereal, soft and delicate
Have you ever seen such unsightliness?

I lightly press the blade atop the surface
The urge to decorate it arising
Have you ever felt such desire?

My mind blanks as the blade glides across the surface
Ignoring the sting of pain and focusing on the pleasure
Have you ever felt such bliss?

The dark liquid seeps through, staining the floor
Oozing out gently and I sigh in content
The urge to keep cutting resurfaces once more
Have you ever felt such temptation?
