The moment my car enters the V&D automobiles campus,I get the festive vibes. Over the night all decorations are done and it gives a temple festival feel with all those Thoranams (hanging decorations made of coconut leaf blades), flowers, colour papers, ribbons and many things.

I get down from my car along with Mom and Moni and we cross the lobby to enter the huge quadrangle lawn which is surrounded by the main office on one side and the manufacturing units on the other three sides. The lawn is filled with our organisation's employees and has a complete celebration mode.

Everyone is traditionally dressed and talking in groups. I look around searching for the one person who I want to see in traditional wear but find only Rakesh, Kavi and Pallavi are talking by the stage. Moni leaves us to make a call as Mom and I go to join the group.

"Va Machan, set up ellam epudi?" (How is the setup, cousin?) Rakesh asks me.

"Hmmm, nalla iruku," (It looks nice) I replied to him. Mom sits on a chair arranged near the stage and I stand looking at the entryway.

Is she yet to arrive or has she already arrived and is staying inside the office?

Rakesh adjusts his voice and when I look at him, he asks me, "Ena Machan yaaraiyo thedura maathiri iruku" (Then.. cousin it seems like you are searching for someone)
