I shudder, walking outside the doors of my new room. I had changed quickly, getting a bit panicky as it had already reached 1:32. I crept out slowly after Wanda, my hands pressed tightly together and I hoped to forever remember this outfit - the first official outfit I wore after being announced an Avenger.

(The picture on the left is the one I describe but you can imagine the other one if you wish to. Keep in mind this outfit will be the first thing Loki will see you in).

I gulped, twisting two fingers around my wrist but my nervousness faded once I saw the boys in the room. I always felt a weird thing about boys, I felt more confident around them but the man I imagined yesterday - Loki - made me feel so strong but so vulnerable, I liked it. I shook him out of my head, running a finger on the gun I had on the inside of my blazer pocket. I assumed that Yelena had custom-made it so I would have space for weapons. She had always adored pockets. I stepped towards the door and it opened, the whole team standing before me except this time, with an additional boy and woman. He had an eyepatch and an interesting look to him. The woman was stunning and I smiled gently at her and earned a small grin.

"L/N." He said, stepping forward with an amused face. He stepped closer but it was to see if it would make me uncomfortable, his mind said. A test. Reasonable. "I am Director Nick Fury," He began stepping closer. Wanda raised her eyebrow, seemingly knowing his intentions too. She went to sit with Vision and Natasha rose to get Mr Fury back.

I bow, showing no sign of uneasiness but Fireball tried to step between, I gently pushed her back. "Mr Fury, Y/N L/N. Dova Koral." I affirmed smartly, curtseying.

"You can read minds." He raised an eyebrow, distancing himself, satisfied.

"I'm sure you already knew that, sir." I looked him up and down, watching the fascination on Dr Banner's face.

"You forget to use it when it's most important, Ms L/N," He said emotionless, "This interaction must be important for you, but when you fought those men you despised," he paused, " You couldn't because of your anger." Mr Fury continued on.

"Boys. When I fought those boys." I corrected with a spiteful tone. When I received confused faces, I went on, "Boys are powerless and unintelligent. They lack basic emotions and self-control," I gestured to the boys in the room, "To me, none of them are men. They are mere boys." They looked at me a little bit hurt. "Except for Sir Thor, Sir Thor is a god," I added with a smile, "The rest of you are boys until proven men and I wish to think of you as men very soon." I bow politely, taking a spot in a chair in the far corner.

Mr Fury's eyes watch as I walk away with confidence, the boys raise their eyebrows at one another, placing a bet on who shall be the first man. I roll my eyes and Mr Fury finished speaking to the other woman.

"I'm Maria Hill, Ms L/N." She says at me, "You'll be joining the Avengers; if you're keen." She smiles and I let her go on.

"You have powers because you were tested on by Hydra, an enemy organisation. You have additional god-like powers which are unknown currently however SHIELD will help you reign in those powers and use them for the greater good of humanity. We have recently overcome a large obstacle, Thanos. He has brought destruction and Earth is in shock but it is recovering. We are exploring threats on other planets and we hope you will join us in fighting these beings wishing to ruin our land," She looks around the room for effect and turns back to me and notes that it's not enough, "We are in collaboration with Stark Industries and are assisting in Funding for Ms Belova's project of finding other widows, they are and will be protected by our forces." She adds.

I roll back my shoulders and raise my eyebrows, turning to the eyes in the room and I begin to freeze up, they're all looking at me. I cover my chest uncomfortably, "I shall join. I have read over all the rules and regulations, I shall follow them and live up to the standards I am expected to," I look down, shifting my feet as their eyes are fixed on me, "However in saying that I do expect to be respected in return. I am 20 years of age, had no childhood so you must not, under any circumstances touch me without my permission. I do have an education, I studied law and excelled in numerous subjects. I believe I shall receive knowledge of the outside world through every person here, Dr Banner and Mr Stark in particular."

"Of course, Ms L/N. You are an official Avenger after you sign here," She points towards a stack of papers identical to the one in my room except with a letter on top, "These are the rules and regulations and a brief rundown on the top, fill in the blanks and sign. You will then be considered an Avenger. You may stay in the room you are provided unless you desire something else." She finished and handed me a beautiful ink calligraphy pen. I accepted it gratefully, singing the other blanks like my birthday and a few personal questions about my studies. It was time.

I took a deep breath and felt the keen eyes on me. I closed my eyes and breathed in again, this single signature would change my life forever. I breathed out and pressed the pen on the paper, I opened my eyes and signed slowly, making it the best I could. Staring down at it I handed the pen back and Mr Fury and Ms Hill nodded gratefully, leaving the room. I let out a sigh, I didn't realise I was holding my breath. I breathed out and walked over to the corner when Wanda and Vision had left, smiling and waving goodbye. Natasha had to go talk to Yelena. A few boys began welcoming me before leaving to do their own thing. I was left with Tony and I thought highly of him but I kept a finger on my gun.

"Hey Y/N, I'm Tony Stark, I think you already know that." He grinned at me.

"Ah, yes. Mr Stark." I nodded, moving forward so there were 2 chairs between us. I hugged my knees and leaned back, waiting for him to speak.

"I was wondering if I could have your number for the group chat and your social media so we can communicate." He said professionally to ensure I didn't have the wrong idea.

I nod, handing him my phone quickly and telling him my password. "You can find stuff there," I said, slipping the phone in his hands and quickly, withdrawing my hand into my chest.

He was taken aback and he looked up at me like I was joking, "Are you being serious right now?" He chuckles.

I look at him, confused. This is how you give your numbers and social media... right? When I don't say anything he begins to look worried.

"Hey um is there anything I should know? I am your new sort of landlord and your friend." He says gently, sliding the phone out to me.

"That's how he made me do it. Dreycov," I cringe at the name, "He said it was respectful..." I add slowly, fidgeting with my fingers.

"Don't tell me he forced you into things too... I'm here for you, Y/N. Please change your password, I don't have the right to know until you tell me out of comfort, not strict etiquette." He says with a nod, smiling gently at me.

I immediately assume he has a daughter, those words are commonly spoken by protective fathers. I get my phone back and I can't help but want to meet his daughter and spouse, "Thank you, Mr Stark. I appreciate your kindness and shall change the password," I reply gratefully with a quick smile, "My phone number is 212 214 8687." I say.

"Do you have any social media accounts or may I help you make them?" He says kindly with a twinkle of fatherhood in his eyes.

I can't help but smile at him, "I have the apps and all but yeah could you help me think of a username and biography?" I ask, moving closer to give comfortably. He has a daughter and a kind heart, a true man.

We had a long conversation after making all my accounts, I was added to the Avengers group chats and surprise birthday party ones. After the 3 hours, I felt of him as a father figure and had gained insight into his family as I listened intently as he talked passionately about Morgan and Pepper - his daughter and wife - I couldn't help but ask to meet them and this next year would be the biggest so far.
