Y/N'S POV

It was late afternoon and beginning to fall into the evening. I had not seen Loki or Thor since the daylight hours and but I was beginning to get hungry. I got my hair and make-up done but left my dress. I slipped into softer Asgardian armour and began to sneak around, admiring sights but keeping alert. I had kept a knife and planned to keep my powers hidden. In the corner of my eye, I saw a dark shadow and I whipped my head around, preparing my knife and rolling my shoulders back.

"Show yourself," I order the shadow.

They jump out in their own stance and in a similar outfit to mine, "Who are you?" They eye.

"Lady Brunnhilde," I let down my stance.

"Lady... Y/N," She raises her eyebrow and loosens her stiffness, "Why are you sneaking around? The ball is soon,"

I shrug, "It got boring laying around, would you like to show me around?" I grin at her.

"Where do ya wanna go?" She smirks as we walk side by side.

"Wherever the wind takes me," I begin to run outside, racing her as we sneak past certain guards.

1 AND A HALF HOURS LATER

We are laying on the roof and staring at the lowering sun when I hear people pull up to the palace and we stare at each other, forgetting about the ball entirely.

"I have to go, Lady Brunnihilde," I slide up, helping her stand as we both jump down silently and part ways.

Rushing to my room, I put on my dress and fixing my hair. I step outside of my room and read for a little bit on my bed casually and begin thinking about Thor's three best friends and Lady Sif. I never imagined I would meet her but I envied her so much already. Her hazel eyes and perfect smile. I put the book down and thought of the stories Thor would tell me about Loki and her. My anger leads me to change my outfit into a different dress, unable to look at a completely green dress.

"Lady Y/N?" The voice of a maid called, "You are to be expected, may I lead you?" She asks preferred gently

"Lady Y/N?" The voice of a maid called, "You are to be expected, may I lead you?" She asks preferred gently.

"Of course," I answered, putting the book aside with concealed jealousy, I walked on towards the ballroom.

"LADY Y/N," A loud voice announced as I blushed at numerous eyes of all genders stared in awe as I stepped down with unusual grace.

I step down and many - I assume - princes attempt in small talk as they lead me to places and dance with me.

"Lady Y/N, you are safe!" Thor steps forward happily, taking my hand, "Are you here to save me?" I whisper.

"Are they not very appealing?" He grins as we drift off to the corner and lower our voices.

"Not very," I admit.

"Has there been a sort of fight between you and my brother? You have not spoken to him," Thor points out.

"No," I stiffly lie as I feel hurt in my heart since I had seen him with the same lady, flirting for the past 20 minutes, "That is Lady Sif," I eye her and state to Thor in a hushed voice.

He furrows his brow and senses my jealousy, "You are envious of her?" He says with a confused tongue.

I drop my head in a barely noticeable nod but try to shake off the sadness and decide to make him jealous is a better option, "Do you have any suggestions to make him jealous?" I mutter under my breath as Loki makes his way over with Sif.

"You see that suitor over there? His name is Darius Andre," He mumbles quickly.

I quickly stride off with a smug grin making my way towards the well-built man as I feel guilty for doing this but I know I would go for him if Loki had not existed, "Sir Darius?" I smile politely.

"Lady Y/N," He smirks suggestively.

Perfect.

LOKI'S POV

She had been unmistakably avoiding me. As I made my way towards her and my brother, she says quick words to Thor and strides away. Heading towards DARIUS? My heart drops. What has my Thor done? He watches my betrayed face and I eye him, reading his mind.

Taken aback by my brothers' thoughts of why I was with Sif, I grunt past the crowd and find Darius cornering Lady Y/N by a wall. She shoves him away and slaps his arm, instant regret for herself.

Why can I not be happy for him? No. This is my fault. I should find Lady Brunnhilde. Leave him alone, Y/N. She thinks, Lady Sif is beautiful. Perfect for him. I should tell her about the Darius person, she will understand. She nods to herself and makes her way across the room to the exit door leading outside.

Does she plan to run away from me again? Was Sif really that beautiful? I wonder as I run after her and grab her waist and pull her into me, "What did I do, darling?" I dumbfoundedly ask.

"Loki..." She gasps as her cheeks flush with colour at the rush of air but she quickly withdraws and flees outside as eyes turn to us but she drags me outside to the stone stairs and drops down onto one and she pouts jokingly.

"Seriously, do not pretend," My face falls and our hearts ache of separation.

We breathe the chilly air around us as the pink sky revolves gently above, "You like lady Sif," She gulps, avoiding my eyes.

"What?" I scoff, "No! She is definitely not someone I would kiss or touch or care for and love," I begin a rant before breathing out, "I do not have feelings for Sif," I assure her, taking her hands in mine.

She looks me in the eyes and the millions of things in my mind stops and freezes as my heart flutters.

"I am better anyways," She blushes at her mistake, "Apologies... for the accusation," She adds, biting her lip with a subtle nod as I take us to my room with the  bustling ball below.

"I never imagined I would say this," I start as we sit on the bed, "But I can not wait to return to Midgard," I finish with a scoff as she lays back breathing a sigh of relief.

"Can you believe those girls? Imagine believing you have a chance with a god," She rolls her eyes with a giggle.
