James was waiting outside of the potions classroom waiting for Sirius.
"Do you know what he wants?" Regulus was waiting with him. Some people were giving weird glances at the pair. Regulus Black and James Potter a pair you'd never think to see talking.
"Nah... I hope its nothing bad?.. the last time someone wanted to 'talk' I was screamed at in the middle of a hallway" They both cringed at the memory of Lily and his fight.
Sirius walked out shortly after that.
"I'll be going now" Regulus smiled at James before going to find Barty.
"Hey Pads?" Sirius had a stoic expression. Something James had seen a lot when first talking to Regulus.
Sirius breathed heavily while rocking on the balls of his feet.
"Prongs... I wanted to say I'm sorry-"
"What why??"
"Let me finish dickwad. I wanted to say sorry for how I've been acting... your my best mate and I've been so suspicious of you and Reg for no reason. You've talked like once hes probably not conspiring against all gryffindors by talking to you..." Sirius had trouble apologizing. Which had made James smile, Sirius apologizing shows that he really feels guilty.
"Pads it wasn't only onc-"
"Shut up Prongs and just accept the apology" Sirius was clearly nervous causing James to chuckle and put an arm around his shoulder.
"I forgive you"
"Thank fuck because I don't know what I'd do without you mate your like my brother" James beamed at him before they both walked to the great hall together.
"And the iconic duo is back together!" Marlene called out when James and Sirius had sat down at the gryffindor table.
"What are you talking about?" Had it been that obvious that Sirius and him had been on rocky terms?
"Jimmy man I gotta tell you it's not hard to see you guys are fighting when there's not a prank on slytherin every day" Mary smiled at them before returning to her conversation with Lily.
James smiled at Mary and Marlene. They were right, there hasn't been a prank on slytherin in awhile.
