Chapter 6 - Wind vs Earth

 Swift's first training phase was on the attack of the sword, and how it will become stronger when swung by two hands instead of one. After this lesson, Swift will learn the fundamentals of blocking and strategize during in battle.

"These...things!.. Sure know...how...to fight," Swift struggled to make a pun while fighting water-made copies of himself where their blades clashed with one another. Swift had a hard time dealing with an opponent just as fast as himself.

Nimu rung a small bell, "Tea time gentleman!"

"Finally! My arms ache from all that sword swinging." Swift pointed his thumb over his shoulder to his water made-selves, "My daily running in the white woodlands was easier than this."

"Remember , you decided to come see & free the kingdom you never got to know," quipped Calasear, enjoying seeing Swift working so hard and exhausted.

"Yap all you want, being this exhausted won't slow me down. After all, seeing those people in dire need of help made me think..."

Nimu kindly offered, "More tea, Swift?"

"Oh, thank you, I would like some more please", he lifted up his cup so Nimu can pour more tea in.

White Woodlands

Swift's grandpa was thinking about one thing he forgot to tell his grandson, "Wait...I forgot to tell Swift about women, oh well he's a quick learner I'm sure he will figure it out."

Nimu's Lake

The Hedgehog lake spirit said happily."Good luck on your training, handsome!"

Swift grimaced, "Vvvvvvvvvv, why did that sent a chill down my back?"

He then resumed his training with the water look-a-likes so that when he would face powerful opponents like the Knights of Order and Queen Lee-ana herself, he could bring back true peace and justice to Galutom. It would take 8 years for a normal person to master magic, but people like the Knights of Order can do it in 3 weeks, hopefully our blue hero can too.

"Well you mastered blocking and proper sword fighting. But you still have a lot to learn about magic to face the Knights of Order, especially the Black Knight."

Swift spared a glance at Calasear, "I'm assuming the Black Knight is pretty infamous?"

Calasear gave a history lesson to Swift, "They say anyone that was given the title of Black Knight would become the most terrifying swordsmen of their time. And the current Black Knight is the strongest of all the Knights of Order."

"Whoa, sounds like the Black Knight came out of a nightmare."

Calasear replied, "In a way, I suppose he is a nightmare."

As Swift was departing, walking through the mist with Nimu by his side, the lake spirit kindly waved him goodbye. "When you come back I'll make some special tea just for you." That made Swift feel a chill down is spine again.

When he came out of the fog, Swift encountered a red armored echidna and yes readers, it's the M.A. Knuckles. His first reaction to seeing someone coming out the fog was, "Who... Alright, tell me what your name is stranger?" he drew his sacred sword which looked a lot alike an axe.

Swift reacted with worry, "Wait, wait why are you drawing out an axe at..."

Calasear shouted "Careful squire! He's one of the Knights of Order. Prepare yourself for battle!"

Gawain recognized Calasear from old books his father had. Seeing Calasear made him think that he had found the 6th barer, and if you remember: in Chapter 1 what Queen Lee-ana's orders were, you readers can guess what comes next.

"Before I take your sword, may I have your name, wielder of Calasear?" Gawain asked in a gentlemanly way.

Swift held his sword defiantly in both hands. "My name is Swift, Swift the hedgehog and I have no intent to lose to someone that lost the will to fight back against Lee-ana."

"What?! How dare you say such things about the Queen and me. The Red-locks Clan has served the royal family for 30 generations. I, Gawain Red-locks, will not stand for it."

Swift asked, "So he's one of the Knights of Order, huh? Hay Calasear, do you know that sacred sword's name? And if so can you tell me about it, please."

"That sword's name is Tearoum, which means Earth Punishment; it can wield powerful earth magic. So you need to watch the ground and your opponent."

In a dramatic moment of silence both Swift and Gawain stared each other down, thinking what would happen after this fight. "I don't know his full abilities with Calasear which may give me a slight disadvantage. However, he must have had his sacred sword for only 17 days. But my experience, skills and loyalty to the Queen will win." All of these thoughts rushed through Gawain's mind.

Swift and Gawain ran and slammed in to each other with a clash of blades. The swords' metal grinded against each other and Gawain had no luck at laying one scratch on Swift. Then the blue hedgehog jumped over Gawain's head and swung his sword at the red knight's back. But Gawain countered by swinging Tearoum, creating some distance between him and Swift.

Gawain acknowledged, "I have to admit it, you're more skilled then I originally thought, but I refuse to let you win." He smashed his blade into the ground and spikes of rock shot from the earth in Swift's direction.

Swift said sarcastically, "Oh no, he's going to pierce through my body... NOT!!" Swift used his incredible speed to dodge Gawain's attack at the last split second. But Gawain did not know the M.A. Sonic was behind him and before he could react, Swift side-kicked Gawain in the back and he fell to the grassy floor beneath him.

Gawain slowly hunched over onto his feet, "You had the chance to kill me but instead you used your foot, why?"

"Yes, why didn't you deliver the finishing blow? He's your enemy." Calasear was dumbfounded with Swift's decision.

Swift responded in a calm voice, "I'll tell you two when Gawain finally uses all his strength and then I'll end this slow-moving fight."

"So you've noticed? Very well, if that's your final wish, then prepare yourself for my best move." Gawain raised his sword, summoning a body of brown stone from the ground. It took the form of a golem and boy was it big. "This is how Tearoum got its name. This attack is called Golem Punishment, prepare yourself for harsh judgment by Gawain the Just!!"

As the fist of the golem came down fast, Swift switched into his spin blade. Fighting Gawain was difficult enough without 'meteors' crashing all around him as distraction. Gawain and Swift were in a power struggle of whose attack would overcome first. Gawain was sure he would win but thanks to Swift's determination, Swift broke the golems arm when he knocked Gawain through the giant of rock. As for the golem, it fell apart from the hole Gawain left in it thanks to Swift.

Ourblue hero towered over Gawain, blocking the sun, when he said. "You wanted toknow why I didn't end you? It's because I know there is more to a knight thanjust serving. There is also helping & protecting good people whether they'repart of Galutom or not."
