Swift had managed to escape his hunters. He could sort of use them as a 'work out' from time to time so that he could stay in shape. But now he had to be more cautious since his face was on wanted posters half-way across the kingdom. This brought all sorts of people for him to deal with: criminals, bounty hunters, Knights of Order and who knows what else... All part of the excitement that makes adventures – from Swift's perspective anyway.
Speaking of Swift, he and Calasear are now traveling on an orange pathway in an open field. To where? The mountains. Why? Because Calasear believes it's one of the safest places in Galotum where they can continue Swift's training without interruptions. He still needs work on: the mystic arts, quick thinking and proper skill with his blade. However, Swift seems to need little help on his posture as a knight.
"Left, right, left, right, up and down. Spin to your left, into a small tornado.... aaaannnd stop!"
Swift stopped spinning as a top and sweat droplets dripped from his quills, until the drops slowly started to freeze. Why was it freezing? Because Swift and Calasear were in the coldest place in Galotem, Eamoldork, the Snow Mountain.
"That was some work out!" stated Swift happily while stretching his arms upword.
"Now your swordsmanship is starting to look more refined than it did before" said Calasear a little impressed that his squire was now developing some technique.
"Sheeeesh, what will it take for you to start calling me Swift directly? And remind me again, why are we hanging out here?" the blue hedgehog gestured with his opened left hand to the snow covered land around him while slowly going once round.
"This cold environment provides resistance training as well as teaching you how to fight in areas that are unknown to you," Calasear explained like a teacher to his student.
"Aaaaaannnnnd?" the Blue Hedgehog referring to the first question.
It took Calasear roughly 8 seconds to realize what Swift was taking about. "Ah, that, I normally used squire first for every apprentice I had over the years. And their names last. However, you are the exception to this, for being so disrespectful to your teacher."
"What!?... why am I?... you said...Grrrrrrr...how about you start acting like a..."
Before Swift could finish his sentence, he and Calasear heard a sound, the sound of bristling branches. But there were barely any trees with leaves during this season and the area Swift was in didn't have any, so that just left......
"The bushes!!" both Swift and Calasear shouted while turning towards the sound which came from behind them. The Blue Hedgehog having Calasear point his blade's tip at the possible foe hiding in the bush.
"Alright, come out and show your face. I won't use force if you come out peacefully." Swift kindly instructed so that he would sound less scary if it was a kid or a scared animal.
"Okay sir, I'll come out." A timid kid's voice came from the bush.
Swift lowered his sword so the kid would feel safer to reveal him or herself. Who appeared from the bush, was a young snow leopard boy. His right eye was blue, the left one was purple. He also wore a dark brown long sleeve shirt and pants.
"So, what's your name kid?" Swift asked but kept his warm tone toward the snow leopard. (Calasear was now on Swift's shoulder just if you readers were wondering.)
"I...I am Thomas, good sir" the snow leopard known as Thomas bowed on his left leg and lowered his head to show some manners towards Swift. However, Swift was not so big on formal greetings. What can you expect? He did live most of his life in the Whitewood Lands with his granddad.
