"Welcome to my home, Hrellway. This is where the Red-locks clan originated. It is quite peaceful here. Good people, no monster knights and great food to top it off," Gawain gestures to the village surrounded by a river.
Swift leaned Calasear onto his right shoulder and raised an eyebrow, "So we're resting here? Seems like a nice place to live."
Two days ago...
Gawain still lied beaten on the grassy ground, thinking in frustration, "What kind of foolish answer is that!!? Wait, better question... What can one hedgehog do against Queen Lee-ana?"
"I must say, I'm curious. What do you mean by those words?" Calasear asked, resting on Swift's shoulder.
Swift replied with a smirk, "Like I said before, there is more to a knight than serving, there is also helping and protecting good people, and that my friend is the truth."
Gawain thought out loud with widened eyes, "Wait, I remember those words..."
-Flash back-
"Never forget, Gawain, the sacred swords all have their own qualities. For example, Tearoum can only be wielded by those who are truly just." whispered the elderly Echidna who was in his bed and with Gawain right by his side.
"I will always remember what you tell me, grandfather."
"And always remember to help and protect the people of this kingdom, my grandson."
-End flash back-
Swift walked away from his foe when he heard a voice.
"If you want I can be of help to you, Swift the Hedgehog," said Gawain with a small smile, surprising the blue hero when he turned around to see the red knight.
Swift looked confused, "Oooooookey, and why are you helping me now?"
"Because your words reminded me of something important, that I had forgotten a long time ago. Oh how foolish of me to forget my grandfather's words." Said Gawain in disappointment
Swift replied in a teasing way. "How foolish are we talking here?"
"Do not mock me and my honor as a Knight of Order! After all, you only had your sword for say 17 days from the way I see you fight." returned Gawain in a mocking tone towards the blue hedgehog with a big smirk.
"He has a point you know, it was only mere luck that helped you win."
"I don't believe in luck and besides, it takes more than good luck to defeat a Knight of Order, you know?"
That statement brought a moment of silence for both Calasear and the grounded knight for two reasons. First off, it was true that it takes more than luck. It takes skill, experience and a spirit that will never give in to evil itself. Lastly, for the words of wisdom to come from Swift – who is still a squire – was quite surprising for those two.
Swift offered a hand to Gawain who was in front of the Echidna now. "So are we going to chit chat all day or are we going to walk ford to your home."
The red knight looked at the hand than to Swift's smiling face and back to his left hand. He thought for a moment to which was more important, his loyalty to Queen Lee-ana or his honor as a Knight of order and the answer was right in front of him.
Gawain had his eyes closed with a smile on the face "my answer is only these four words..."
Present time
Swift and his new friend were walking through the village. The people didn't know Swift and through Lee-ana's reign trust between the people was 'shaky'. Since Gawain lived there, the people were less afraid. With the wielder of Tearoum there – the Queen didn't need to send her mindless watch dogs as her knight already lived there who could keep the Peace for her. It also worked for the people because the Red-lock clan had a strong connection with Hrellway, like one big family.
