White Woodlands
While the queen rules Galotum, she was unaware of what was going on in the White Woodlands. The wind blustered through the woods with Swift himself on his carefree run back to his Grandpa's house, where he was making some carrot soup.
The house was nothing special. Outside, it was made of wood with vegetables on the left, right and back sides of the house. The door flung open with a bang, "Hey Grandpa, what's cooking?" asked Swift in a happy tone.
"Oh Swift, you returned. Well, take a seat my boy and let's have some supper." said the bushy moustache that seemed to take up the Grandpa's whole mouth. The older Hedgehog was a lighter shade of blue, wore a gray long sleeve shirt and, just like Swift, simple leather shoes. His name is Jonathan Hedgehog. Jonathan has been raising his grandson for 13 years. Because well, you'll have to wait for that part...
While Swift was chowing down his food like a well-mannered hedgehog, a thought crossed his mind about why he couldn't leave his house, much less the White Woodlands. "Hey Grandpa, why can't I go beyond the woods?"
Jonathan almost choked on his carrot soup from the unsuspected question. "Well l should tell you sooner or later. My boy, beyond the woods is a kingdom that was brought to ruin because of Queen Lee-ana. She commands monsters, the last remaining knights and she rules it all in an era of fear and darkness. Your mother and father also told me, if anything were to happen to them I must take you somewhere safe."
"So... that's the reason we're hiding in the White Woodlands?" the M.A.-sonic replied, and with a smile of confidence continued, "Alright then Grand-pa, when I'm old enough I'll leave the White Woodlands, find someone to train me on how to use a sword, and when I'm ready I'll beat Lee-ana." It's very normal among commoners kids in these ages to leave the house when they become 18 or 19. But there are exceptions to this but it is rare.
Swift's Grand-pa's mind drifted and his eyes opened real wide, not seeing even a glint of fear in Swift. "I don't believe it, he's not showing any hate towards Lee-ana for taking away his parents. That is a rare thing in people... Perhaps Swift does have what it takes to become the newest & truest of knights." thought Jonathan proudly.
The Next Day
Swift woke up before his grand-pa did, to go on his routine morning run. But what Swift doesn't know is that his life is going on an adventure.
As he dashes through the woods Swift comes across a cave.
"Wow, never seen this cave before!" Curious, the Blue Hedgehog enters in to the cave, unaware of the winds of change.
Within the pitch-black cave, Swift finds a light shining on a sword in a stone. [Writers note. The sword looks just like Cliburn from the game, except it can do more.]
And on the stone was some writing. Swift read, "The one that pulls-foot..."
"It's not pulls-foot, you Hedgehog. Its pulleth!"
"Whoa! A talking... sword?"
"My name is Calasear, to you boy. I'll translate. The one that pulleth the sacred blade, Calasear, shall be trained by the sword while learning the old code of knights."
"So if l pull... you out of the stone... l get to become a knight?"
Calasear replied, "No, a squire. But in time. I'll see if you can learn how to use a sword properly, my young hedgehog."
Swift took Calasear by the handle and pulled him out of the stone. But what Swift didn't know is that freeing the living sword would act like a beacon to inform the wielders of the sacred blades. He didn't even realize it but he just broadcasted a signal to the knights that the 6th barer has been chosen. However it did not mean they knew where he was.
Back at the house Swift introduced Calasear to his Grandpa and boy was he shocked to see a real sword of legends.
"I never thought the day when Calasear himself in my home would come true; much less the White Woodlands in Galotem of all places."
Calasear explained to both Swift and his Grandpa why he was in that stone. "You see, over 1300 years ago a war was waged between King Leo and his sister Lee-ana. No one knows where she learned black magic but Lee-ana was well trained in it. When the last days of the war came King Leo was badly wounded by Lee-ana. But before he died before my eyes, King Leo used his remaining strength to transport me to the White Woodlands for a new knight to free Galotem."
"So you want my grandson to fight an entire kingdom that he doesn't know about, ruled by Queen Lee-ana, while freeing all people of Galotem?"
Calasear said in return, "As inexperienced as Swift may be, he's the last Hope we have."
Swift stood up and proclaimed. "If my home needs a knight then I'm the Hedgehog to do it. Grandpa, will you come with to show me Galotem?"
"I wish I could my boy, but these old bones can't keep up with you. After all, you are like the wind, fast and unseen."
Swift folded his arms and said. "Well I'll come back to visit you now and then. After all, when I come back you'll see how your grandson becomes thee Sir Swift."
"Do not let it go to your head my squire," Calasaer said in a serious tone."
"Squire, didn't you call me Swift just moments ago?"
"You're only starting as an apprentice. I can call you squire, knave or subordinate."
"Whatever, you oversized butter knife." said the M.A. Sonic.
And so Swift's grandpa packed his grandson's bag for his journey to Galotem.
Calasear asked Swift, "Now if you go passed the woods you will face great challenges."
"Sounds like you're worried, I made my choice. In any case, I'm a little curious what Galotem holds for me."
On the border of the White Woods, Swift and his Grandpa shook hands and exchanged goodbyes. Swift was excited to see the kingdom while going on an adventure, but his Grandpa was a little anxious, "I wish you luck and strength on your journey my grand-son!"
When Swift ran on the pathway, Calasear could not believe how fast he could run.
"In the name of Dragons, how can one Hedgehog move so fast!?" Calasear shouted into the trail left by the hurricane.
"So you never went this fast before? Wow, sounds like the past knights have some catching up to do." jibed Swift.
When Swift first saw the horse carriage been attacked by Queen Lee-ana monsters, his reaction was to save the people and slice the three monster knights to pieces. Swift dashed straight to the monster knights and slashed them from right to left, and ended with a blustering blow down the middle to finish them. Then the 3 monsters disappeared into thin air in a puff of black smoke.
Calasear, looking more iron and severe than usual, shouted, "You foolish knave! Have you no idea what you have done?"
The M.A. Sonic replied, "Other than me saving these people? I don't know why you're getting so angry over it, Calasear?"
"By destroying Queen Lee-ana's monster knights, she now knows of your existence which means things will become much harder for us now."
"Oh crud."
Castle of Galotem
In a certain chamber where Queen Lee-ana sits on her thrown: She called the knights together, the real knights for something important. When they came into the throne room, the knights knelt before the current ruler of their kingdom.
"I assume you all know why I called you here," echoed Queen Lee-ana through the halls.
Sir Blackess spoke to the Queen first, "Yes, we all know why you summoned us because the 6th barer has come. What are your orders?"
"Bring me the sacred blade... and slay its wielder."
