Hyunjae, again, made her heart calm down. they were still in the same position, looking at their both eyes. Haey did not break the eye contact, for she was terrified to look back and see Lin's figure.

"Why are you here?! I never saw you around! and I made sure everyone was asleep!" Lin continued to rant crazily.

"I thought you were doing your duties today?" Haey asked softly, her voice came out tired. she tried hard to ignore Lin's ways of talking, which gave her goosebumps.

"I can't live without seeing your beautiful face, princess." he cheekily told with a grin. Haey gave him a helpless chuckle, "you're turning bold every day. maybe Mark and Johnny are not good for you."

"nope, you should thank them since they gave me the confidence to confess to you.."

their conversation went smoothly until the clock strikes 12. the mood never changed as they both enjoyed the night. Haey didn't waste time telling Hyunjae about the unconditional love she felt, for she was convinced she is now running out of time.

in Haey's case: she was feeling unsure about what will happen next after their both mouth shut and silence will fill the room since a mad woman's soul was beside them the whole time, holding a pair of broken glass. those red eyes never left the room as they shamefully stare at both Haey's dark ones.

"Are you alright, Haey?" Hyunjae's voice saddened a little bit when he caught Haey staring at a wall, looking petrified. each second he can feel she was gripping on his shirt tightly, which made him more anxious why she wasn't answering.

"Suh Haey, what are you looking at?" Hyunjae gained her attention this time as he slightly slap her both shoulders. Haey flinched at the sudden slap and immediately averted to the latter telling him, "I'm sorry, were you saying something?"

Hyunjae lets out a sigh, "nothing, I was just worried about you. you look.... somewhat," she frowned in return. "petrified...." Hyunjae continued his words and looks at her, attentively.

"do.... do you want to go to the ballroom? it's been a while since we danced together." Haey told to immediately cleared the heavy atmosphere. "y-yeah, alright.." he answered, feeling unsure about his decision.

the ballroom was not that far from the room and it took them not a minute to arrive there. Of course, Hyunjae had to carry the latter since she can barely even walk nor stand on the cold floor.

her head rests on the broad shoulder of Hyunjae as he carries her to the certain room at the end of the hallway. she was already feeling tired and hopeless every time Hyunjae takes a step forward. every second stings her mind and soul, as the sharp blade comes in contact with her pale skin.

"your time is running out, what are you planning? care to share it with me?" Lin mockingly told.

"How can we dance if you can barely even walk?" he told in a joking manner as Haey lets out a small chuckle, her voice became deeper. "please? just this time.." she pleads before the latter nods his head with a small smile, "anything for you.."

Hyunjae opened the door of the ballroom. Lin's eyes roam around the room, she saw many paintings of Haey's family. Haey immediately took a small deep breath before resting her both hands on Hyunjae's shoulder while the latter wrap his hands to her waist. it was clear to Lin's eyes the calmness and joy, she could now see the family her friend, Haeyoun, use to have in the past.

"you have a huge family here, everyone provided all your needs. I don't get why you did not take care of your own life when all the people around you seem to care for you with all their hearts." Lin confessed as it triggered the person she was talking to.

rather than talking back to Lin, she ignored her and convinced herself to dance. Haey is now sure she has no time left, even though the feeling of calmness was experienced with Hyunjae; she can't help it, but to let a tear left her eyes just by looking at the man in front of her.

the sound of the music lingers inside the room, as they both dance gracefully below the moonlight. the cold night breeze entered the room, giving them all shivers. Lin was afraid to commit what she has been thinking. no matter how greedy she is for the woman to die, she still feels sorrow to know how cruel her actions can affect other lives. she still feel sorry to the world her best friend use to live. everything seems to make her halt from committing a sin. however, she knows it is now too late to feel sorrow.
