Chapter 3
Delilah's pov
"Hey Ma look at this" I turned the camera towards the city view as I got in the ride to my apartment. Dad never believed it was a good idea living in dorms so he insisted on renting an apartment. Some would call it daddy's girl, well...I don't think so.
"It looks beautiful can we go Ma?" Ade asked Ma making me stifle a laugh
"You just miss me too much"
"No I don't I just wanna stay in an apartment with the worlds greatest view ALONE" she huffed
"Ma can I go to Japan alone" she asked making Ma's eyes widen, breaking into fits of laughter "You are killing me" before I could say another word they started bickering about each other only making the ride go faster.
"Guys calm down I'm here, I'll call you once I am in" I smiled and ended the call.I let out a breath as I entered the apartment, it was pre owned by Dad's best friend so I didn't have a lot to worry about, it was furnished nicely and I just had to plop down and do my thing. I laid down on the bed my hair sprawling all around the mattress, taking out the piece of paper he wrote me I looked at it and smiled. I traced his handwriting it wasn't messy it was neat, taking curves of cursive like he has been practicing on learning it, yet it looked subtle. His words formed an arch as I could hear his voice in my head saying them. I smiled at the thought of him and laid down on my belly. "Uh god he has a girlfriend make it stop" I laid there in frustration. "I feel so lost, I got to stop this I am here to build a career what am I getting myself into, I might not even see him again, MIGHT! SHUT UP AHH" I stood up getting mad at myself and kept the paper somewhere safe and started unpacking the loads.
After a tough afternoon of fighting with my head I finally unpacked half the things, I heard a loud growl in my stomach and it was time to feed it. I locked the apartment and got in the elevator, "oops sorry" I heard a little whisper come out of a blonde girl, she wasn't precisely blonde, she had beige curly hair with almond eyes, her nose sat perfectly on her sculptured face and had a frustrated look on her face. "Hey I am Isabella I am your next door neighbour" she smiled, I pulled out my hand to shake and she came in for a hug "I am more of a hugger" she shrugged
"Delilah and I don't mind"
"So are you new around here?"
"Just moved here for university what about you?"
"I have been here my entire life now, don't know when am I leaving this shit hole"
"It's that bad?"
"Stay off the couples on the second floor and you're good" she laughed
"Dually noted"
"Wanna grab coffee?" I nodded immediately before heading out to the streets with her"So you're telling me you ALMOST ran him over but you actually hit him with the car?" I laughed at her as coffee came gushing through my nose
"I never ran him over, listen to me he cheated i simply didn't see him crossing snd so I crashed into him and he ended up in a cast" she explained
"Right he is the victim who are we to blame you" I shaked my head off
"Enough about me tell me about you? Any secret lovers?" She asked and I smiled at her thinking about the one person I shouldn't be. Ian
"No"
"No? That smile says otherwise"
"I don't think I am going to see him again"
"How did you meet"
"Over a stolen piece of cake" I smiled
"That's romantic" she fist bumped me making me roll my eyes
Hey Delilah it's me again. Your heart. You can't stop thinking about him. You won't be for a long time. You're going to see him everywhere you go, walking beside you, sitting beside you making your heart flutter with a billion butterflies. But he has a gi-
Hush hush if it's meant to be it will be.
Shut up!Ian's pov
"Dad Chloe was the last person I needed here" I spoke as Dad argued on keep Chloe beside me
"I don't care Ian do you have to argue about everything"
"When is she reaching?"
"Tomorrow afternoon" with a frustrated groan I shut off the call
I rummaged through the office files finding her little bracelet in my hands "I wished it was that easy" I sighed putting it back in the safe box. New York was the last place I liked coming too, the business puts me out almost every-time and makes its ten times harder for me to look at. I wanna find her. It will only make things harder for her, miserable,. Putting herself in situations where she would have to question herself. I can't put her through this.
"Sir we looked through the campus and asked the advisory she is a student there but doesn't live on campus" Nathan entered the room as he searched for her
"Thank you"
I can't do this to her.
I picked up the phone and called Dad back, after a couple of rings he answered with a furious tone "Chloe is coming Ian"
"No dad I am done over here I'm taking the first flight back tomorrow morning"
"Is everything alright?"
"Yes I am done with everything right here" I reassured him and ended the call
Delilah. I smiled at the thought of her and started clearing off the room.
"Sir what about your interviews?"
"Get Chloe to do them since she is eager for this" he nodded and went back to work
