"Liar"

Chapter 11

I laid down on my bed as I played scenarios in my head. I let tears flow down my face as my heart grew heartless. "I love torturing myself" I sat up straight taking out a green satin dress. "Del are you sure?" I heard Ma ask me watching me get dressed. "I don't know why am I doing this to myself" I said holding onto her hands letting the tears fall down my face.
"You don't break promises" she smiled tucking my hair behind. I started on getting ready as the clock hit 5 "I can come with you if you want" Ade asked and I smiled at her "this is something I've to do on my own" I said before getting into my heels. "Delilah"
"I'm good I promise" I said before walking out the door
I drove towards the venue before hitting the breaks on the red light as I watched an old couple cross the road. I watched him hold out his lady's hand as she moved slowly "MOVE DELILAH" I heard his voice in the back of my head. I heard loud horns before watching the the light turn green as I rushed myself out the way.
I stood outside the venue chugging onto water as I prepared myself for what's about to happen next. I got out the car straightening my dress out and walked into the venue. I looked around the white and blue decor as I made my way to an empty seat, the placed was packed as I sat down on the empty seat.
"Delilah?" I heard an unfamiliar voice from behind me as I turned to look at a girl calling me out
"Sorry do I know you?" I asked standing up
"I am Mae Ian's sister" she smiled shaking my hand
"You can come this way" she said walking me towards closed doors

I walked in to see him standing there fixing his tie, I smiled at how beautiful he looked on this day. He looked like the man from every girls dream.
"Delilah"

Ian's pov

"Ian Delilah is here" Nathan said as he walked into the doors. My heart sank as I heard her name. "I'll go get her" Mae said walking out the door. "Can you get Ma?" I said as I got nervous
"She is with Chloe she'll be here soon" he said handing me water
"She understands" he said as he patted my shoulder
"It's ridiculous isn't it? You fall in love with every single move a person does. Like she is the reason you breath, your routine, someone you want to stick with" I said and he nodded
"Sometimes you love so hard that your heart aches" he said with a broken smile
"How do you think she is doing?"
"She is drowning inside in her sorrow, she is breathing for you. She is waiting for a chance to turn this all around. She thinks it not too late but she has lost hope yet she puts on a brave smile to come see you. She knew what she put herself into" he said
"It's my fault"
"It's no ones fault. Feelings are not something you can control. Love is uncontrollable you just fall and you can't come back up. You've to kill your heart for others sometimes" he said
"You're good at this" I said and he laughed
"I know a thing or two" he said as the doors opened. She walked into the room lighting up my heart with a huge smile plastered on my face. I stood there as she waited for me to say something but all I wanted to do was get closer to her. She looked beautiful everything went blur in the room as she walked towards me "Delilah"
"Ian"
"You look" I smiled as I grew speechless for comments
"Your best man is here" she said walking over to me fixing the rose in my pocket, "you don't look bad" she smiled
How is she smiling?
"Ready?" She asked and I remained quiet
"He is ready Nathan" she answered for me giving me multiple smiles
"Smile. It's your big day" she said before mom walked in the room
"Where is Ade?"
"I don't know she hard an urgent call" I nodded
"Is this her?" Mom asked before going over to Delilah
"I'm Delilah"
"You do have a beautiful smile" Mom said before placing her hand on her cheek
"Thankyou" she replied before walking towards me
"I'll see you outside soldier" she said before walking out the door
I looked at mom as she saw me tremble "Dad?"
"Waiting out the door for you"

I walked down the aisle as I looked eyes with her. She looked at me with the warmest eyes. She gave me a reassuring smile as I watched her hold back her sadness. I can read your emotions Delilah. I walked towards the altar standing there with everyone else congratulating me already. I looked back at her only to see her look at me, she gave me a thumbs up and I laughed as her ring out stuck in her dress. Her ring. I put my hand in my pocket to pull out the one thing I carry with me. Her little bracelet. I smiled as I looked up at her. "IAN" I heard a loud whisper from the corner. "What's wrong?" I looked at Mae who kept calling me as the doors were beginning to open for Chloe. "Look at these" she handed me papers
"Dad faked his heart attack"
"What?" I looked at her "Are you stupid"
"Listen to this" she handed me her phone putting it against my ear only to hear Dads voice arguing with someone.
"I need you to do this for me. I said I'll pay you the extra amount you needed. All you need to do is tell him I'm not in the condition to stress out. He needs this. Ian won't marry Chloe unless he sees one of us vulnerable"
"You were the biggest reason to break off the wedding" I said as I held the phone down
He faked it? How could he.
I looked at Dad who was smiling at me as my I felt myself boil inside "why're you giving these to me right now Mae?"
"This is your ticket out"
"It's not Chloe is pregnant"
"Who said so" she handed me a paper that stated Chloe's name and a negative on her pregnancy test
"I don't get it"
"You said you never touched her you were not even around her I thought she might've cheated on you. It could help you out in a way. I was able to match the DNA with yours but it turned out she was never pregnant" she said as I heard Delilahs voice
"Maybe this is her way of gaining your love"
"Ian you might lose Dad or the business if you go the other way" she said as Chloe walked down the aisle towards me
"Ian what're you thinking about" my head was numb as I looked at Delilah her words rummaging through my head.
"Fake heart attack? Fake pregnancy?" I looked at Tom as he handed Chloe over to me and she stood facing me. I stared at her in betrayal as the priest started the ceremony. You betrayed me again. Dad? You came up with the entire plot. You started the war. You made me feel like the worst son possible. For what? Money?
You Chloe everyone your world revolves around money. "With this ring I, Chloe, take you, Ian, to be no other than yourself. Loving you more everyday and cherishing our life together" I watched her as she placed a ring on my finger. I looked back at Delilah as she fidgeted with her fingers. "Ian" Nathan called out handing me the ring. "Do you take Chloe as your lawfully wedded wife?" I looked up the man asking me the question and the women in front of me, I looked back at Delilah and she mounted me words. I smiled at her and looked back at Chloe "You lied"
"What hunny?" Chloe let out a small laugh
"You're not pregnant" I said as she held back her words
"You lied. You're a liar"
"Ian stop" Dad rushed over to me
"You lied as well. You're all liars" I said as I took off the ring
"I hate you" I said as I dropped the ring down and rushed down the aisle. I run towards Delilah and smiled at her "Do you want to steal the cake?" I asked her as she laughed at me "Ian"
"Doesn't matter we can have the entire thing" I said grabbing her hand and running
"IAN" I heard Dad call out as everyone in the hall rushed behind me
"WHY ARE WE RUNNING" Delilah screamed
"BECAUSE WE STOLE THE CAKE" she laughed while taking off her heels and running towards the car
"GET IN MAE GOT YOUR CAR" she sat down in the car as dad screamed behind me
"Ian stop"
"Not anymore Dad"
"Nathan get him to me right now" Nathan walked towards me and smiled
"With all due respect sir I'm Mr Grey's chauffeur not yours" he said before handing me a piece of cake
"It tastes good" he said and I hugged him before hopping in the car
"IAN" I sped through the roads as the sun was setting
"It's raining. Good day for a wedding" I said
"Good thing it wasn't outdoor or I wouldn't have seen Chloe cry"
"So mean" she punched me as we heard cars race behind us
"Is that?"
"Tom will do anything for his daughter" I said that as I pushed myself and the car over the limit feeling every bit of the rush get through me, I felt the wheels hug the road. The traffic rose up the hill as two cars cornered us around, I felt the smell of the burning rubber, the exhaust filled the air as the rain got heavy, hearing the screech from the car I took the chances and took a U turn midway losing the cars behind me before heading into the woods. "WATCH OUT" Delilah screamed as we hit a bump and I almost lost control of the wheels hitting the tree, I put my foot on the break before we broke bones as I felt my insides shake.
"HOLY SHIT" Delilah screamed as she looked at me

"Yes"
"You ran out of your wedding" she said as we looked at each other

We broke into fits of laughter, she snorted covering her mouth and I poked her laughing at her snorts "YOU SNORTED"
"SHUTUP YOU STOLE THE CAKE"
"Nathan gave it to me" he said as he handed it to me
"Why did you runaway Ian?" She asked as anger rushed through me
"Would you like to dance with me?" I asked her as I turned up the volume. It was drizzling outside as the moon shone between the trees. She smiled at me and nodded. "I can have a wedding dance can't I?" I asked before getting out the car and grabbing onto her warm hands. I held onto her waist and she draped her hands around my neck. "I find you attractive" I looked at her before words came flying out of my mouth. She pressed her lips together before forming a smile, "I mean you are beautiful but like I didn't mean"
"Calm down you aren't so bad yourself" she laughed as I twirled her around
"Is this our jam?" I asked as Elvis Presley played behind us
"We have a jam?" She snickered
"Maybe this can be it" I smiled as I danced in the rain with her humming to the music
"Maybe"

We sat down on the edge of the footpath grabbing onto our corn dogs as the world kept moving. I felt a loud buzz in my pocket and looked up from the screen "it's Chloe" I said. She took the phone away from me and looked at me "you ran away from it now what do you plan on doing?" She asked
"I wanna continue what I stopped. I wanna start my life where I left it. I want to be something on my own not because of my Dad. I want to be build my own name, my own empire." I said with a hopeful look
"What about Chloe and your parents?"
"I might have to live with this forever but I know Mom will be proud of me. She never wanted me to come between Dads business, I'm going to make it on my own" I said as I watched her listen to me
"I would be proud of you too" she smiled
"But Ian your Dad matters a lot to you I see it. Be his support he might stay angry maybe for a few days, months or years but it's alright Ian"
"He faked his heart attack Del" she sat up straight looking at me
"What?"
"Apparently there was a recording about his of him lending money or I don't know. Mae handed it to me"
"Ian before we jump onto any conclusions how about you talk and figure this out. There has to be a reason why he did all of this. Did you ever ask him the actual reason he wanted you to marry Chloe?"
"To expand his business" I said
"But why only with them when there could be other better businessmen out there? What got him so hooked or so troubled into with Williamson?" She said as everything made sense now. He couldn't have done anything without a reason, Dad would never. I never understood him or tried being there for him. What if I caused a bigger problem?
"Shit. What if he is in trouble?" I said as I got off the pavement
"You should go to him. He needs you" Delilah said as I rushed towards the car
"Let me drop you home"
"Ian I can go myself don't worry and I need to get my car"
"It's late and you're my responsibility, get in the car" I said as I escorted her to the door
"You never listen"
"What can I say I am a gentleman" I said as I smiled at her with a concerned look.
"Ian don't lose hope it's all going to be good" she said placing her hand on my hand
