The next morning, I woke up to 3 people standing around in my room, and I almost jumped out of my skin. "Good morning dear! Today, we will be preparing for you to have your interview tonight!" Erli informed me. I nodded, still a little shocked that they let themselves into my room. Darnia and Blossom greeted me, and I hopped out of bed.
Today, they got straight to work. For my hair, Blossom did a bubble braid, but left most of it down. Erli switched out my glasses for contacts, and put on a deep blue eyeshadow, silver eyeliner, and black mascara. Darnia trimmed my nails, and put a blue and silver sparkle nail polish on them.
By the time Violet entered my room, I could already tell two things. One, I look gorgeous, Two, my dress is probably going to be blue or silver. She greeted me, and pulled a dress out of a bag, that blew my breath away. It was a floor length dress, strapless, and a deep blue with silver speckles on it. It reminded me of the night sky.
Behind me, I could tell my prep team was experiencing the same thing, because Erli just about burst into tears, and Blossom and Darnia had awed expressions. Violet smiled and had me get changed into it. She then handed me a pair of high heels, and told me that I was ready to go.
Wiress escorted me to backstage, where me and the other tributes would wait to be called. I saw Mazie, who looked very pretty in a golden dress and a hair clip that looked like it was wheat, and Squirrel, who was dressed as a tree. Very soon, I heard my name being called, so I got the biggest smile I could muster, and bounced out onto the stage.
"Hello, Ada! How are you today?" Caesar asked. Wiress had agreed to be my translator during the interview, so when I signed, "I'm doing great! How are you, Caesar?" She told Caesar and the audience what I said.
"I'm doing great today, thanks! So how have you been liking the capitol so far? And I'm sure many people are wondering, what's it like to be carrying on the family legacy? Are you scared?"
"We'll, Caesar, I'm thankful for the capitol to be so generous with us when we're here. To be honest, I don't really get most of the fashion statements, but I'm sure that they make much more sense here, since the districts don't have much fashion. I'm a little nervous, but I'm hopeful that I'll be able to survive. I'm not sure that me and the districts think the same thing as you do with the 'legacy,' so I'm not going to go into that so I don't hurt any feelings."
"Oh... Do you have any idea what your going to do in the arena? Or is that something you'd like to keep quiet until tomorrow?" Caesar asked. "I've heard from a lot of previous victors, and they say the arena changes you, and makes you have bloodlust. But the number one thing that I'm going to try not to do, is kill someone." I responded.
"Well, hopefully that and not make any mistakes that make you die..." Caesar joked, and I forced a laugh. Then, my timer went off, so I bid them goodbye and walked back stage. I was quite happy that I managed to stay bubbly and happy during my interview. The rest of the interviews seemed to go quickly, so soon, I was walking back to my room to go to bed.
I washed away the makeup, and got changed into a tank top, long pants, and put my dress on a hanger in the closet before laying in bed and going to sleep.
