The next morning, when I awoke, I sat up in bed right away, before remembering that I wasn't in the mentor's room, I was in district thirteen. As I surveyed my room, I saw Apollo, sitting on a chair, sleeping near my bed. I got up and got dressed, and when I exited the bathroom, I saw Apollo standing there, dressed and ready to go.

"Do you want to go down to breakfast?" He asked, me and I shook my head as a yes. He grabbed my hand, and started walking down to the kitchen. As we walked, he told me about district thirteen. Apparently, they welcomed all rebels and other people who have escaped from the district's with open arms, although they wanted us to get jobs so we could help the economy grow better.

I thought about what I thought I should do, and decided that I wanted a quiet job, so maybe working in the kitchen. Although, part of me also wanted to become an officer here. When I told Apollo that, he responded with, "That'd be cool, although I wouldn't have to worry as much, because I'm an officer too. I could totally show you on today after breakfast if you'd like."

I smiled and nodded. Once we got to the kitchen, we sat down after grabbing a dish of onion soup. About when I was halfway through with the hot broth, a soldier came up to me, introduced himself as Solider Hawthorn, and told me and Apollo that the operation to rescue the tributes from the arena was successful and that they were in the hospital.

Once Soldier Hawthorne had left, I jumped up and grabbed Apollo's hand, practically begging him to take me to the hospital. He obliged, and so we started jogging there. Apollo threw open the doors, and we saw Finnick and Beetee in hospital beds. Dad sat up immediately, and said, "Ada!"

I ran over to him and hugged him. He hugged me back, very hard. When we released each other, Beetee asked, "Where's Carter?"

My eyes widened, and I felt a wave of guilt rush over me. Carter... I had forgotten about him yesterday with all of the emotions, being rescued from the mentor's room, and seeing Apollo again. I looked to Apollo for help. "I'm so sorry, do you know if Carter's in district thirteen?" I asked Apollo.

He shook his head, biting his lip. I sighed and looked back at Dad. "I'm sorry, I think he's still in district three. I'm going to go talk to Coin now though..." I signed. Beetee rolled his eyes at me and waved. I waved back, exiting the room with Apollo. We walked into the control room, where Alma Coin, District thirteen's president, stood.

"Hello, I'm sorry for interrupting, but I'd like to join the soldiers. But, on one condition. You get my little brother and best friend out of district three."

The rest of the people who were in the room, Plutarch included, looked at me in awe. Apparently, not many people had the nerve to barge into the control room and give an order to the president herself. Her eyes drifted from my face to over my shoulder, where Apollo stood, trying not to smile.

"Did you organize this, Soldier Mcguirer?" She finally spoke in a quiet voice. "No, President Coin..." He said with respect. "Fine, you may join. We will try to get your friends out of three." She pursed her lips.

"Great, thank you President Coin." He said, grabbing my arm and pulling me out of the room. Once we were outside, he snorted, and that soon became full out laughing. His laughing became contagious, because soon, I joined in. For a few minutes, we chuckled over the fact that I just burst in the room, and everyone's faces. Once we got back into control, we headed to my room and talked for the rest of the day.
