Clary finished her first coffee quickly and moved onto her second - the first day back of school was always the slowest and most tiring of days. She made a mental note to buy Katie something at lunchtime so that they were even because she did not like forgetting the little things.
The brunette was mentally trying to figure out why the group who the females had been merely acquaintances with the previous year were now sitting with them. Katie bought their excuse of not having an empty table yet Clary was looking for an underlying motive, it seemed suspicious to her considering the feeling of somebody watching her had been increasing throughout the day. She rolled her eyes and bit back a scoff at the ashy blonde beside her who had his nose buried in an algebra book.
Clary glanced at both Jin and Hoseok who seemed to be on their phones, she wondered what they were privately talking about - it was obvious from their simultaneous grins that they were texting eachother. Clary grew cautious and insecure for a couple of seconds, she smoothed down her pristine grey and red tartan skirt to ensure they weren't perhaps commenting on her appearance.
The bell soon rang to signal the end of break time to which Clary groaned at the thought of sitting in a mathematics class for an hour. She wasn't too horrible at the subject yet it was safe to say her performance was around average and her interest incredibly lacking. Clary just couldn't comprehend why she was required to learn equations like parabolas because she was fully certain it wouldn't be relevant after high-school considering she was sure she would never pursue a career in the subject.
The cafeteria grew louder and students began to clear up their mess and head to their next classes. Namjoon stood up slightly before Clary and chuckled a little when he noticed how small she was in comparison. The brunette was about to lift up her books when another pair of hands picked them up. "I'm heading in that direction anyway," he smirked.
Clary would have made a sarcastic comment about being able to handle her own books but she had already seen her friend swarm off with Taehyung and Hoseok and she realised that it was just herself and Namjoon left standing.
"Well if you insist, Mr Kim." The female slung her backpack across her shoulder.
"I do insist, also you may call me Namjoon," he smiled and for a second the female was confused at the sudden sweetness of the males personality which was captivating.
The brunette nodded and side by side the two made their way to the mathematics department. Clary was hopeful because she was excited for the class to be over so that she could enjoy Spanish which was afterward. "How are you feeling about the Japanese test later?" He ruffled his blonde hair.
Clary shrugged, "I'm confident I can get a decent grade, I still don't see why it's a compulsory class."
The blonde grinned in response, "I'm sure you'll get a good grade so long as nobody finds out your generosity in helping Yoongi pass." His expression grew sly and Clary's face hardened. Fuck, now that wasn't good.
The brunette smirked at her own witty response, "I'm sure nobody will find out about your occupation so long as nobody finds out about myself and Yoongi's class arrangement."
Namjoon opened his mouth to reply yet no sound arrived, it was safe to say the cocky brunette had shocked him to silence. She knew that she would never actually expose BTS, but it was the power of the knowledge itself which was important - it loomed over Namjoon for he could never be too careful. Clary brushed her hand over his and lifted her mathematics book, "Thank you so much for carrying my books Namjoonie!" She bowed and then turned on her heel.
Clary grinned, his expression painted a mental image in her head and she was satisfied at his response. She entered her mathematics class with a spring in her step hoping that the male wouldn't take any sort of action. In hindsight Clary only hinted that she knew what they got up to and therefore the blonde had no proof of exactly what she knew.
