Even with the availability of vaccines, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to be a threat to human health. Be that as it may, most unvaccinated Mexicans still give zero fucks for the virus. After all, it's more important to party with friends and family than to social distance at home alone on the most significant day in Mexico's history!

"Today is a beautiful day!" Puebla boasts with a hoot of laughter.

"Indeed, a beautiful day with crappy weather," Tamaulipas scowls at the rain pouring all over the courtyard, preventing them from having an outdoor fiesta.

"Mind your nasty tongue," she huffs. "I mean, today is a glorious day for it has been exactly two hundred years since Señor Spain acknowledged México's independence."

"Wow. Has it really been two hundred years?" Yucatán awes in amazement.

"Sí (Yes)! Our country has grown so much since that glorious day. Viva México (Long live Mexico). May he forever be strong, courageous, and—"

"Cough!" Mexico spits out blood before collapsing on the tiled floor.

"¡Mierda (Shit)! Not again!"

"¡Oh Dios mío (Oh my God), Puebla! You fucking jinxed it!"

"Way to go, culera (asshole)!"

"¡Oye! ¡Oye! Mind your language! And quit blaming me! It's not my fault!" Puebla yells, brushing off their accusations.

"I knew a birthday party was a bad idea..." Coahuila laments while helping Nuevo León lift Mexico off the floor, setting him down on a chair.

"Are you okay?" Chiapas asks worryingly.

"Sí, I'm okay," Mexico softly smiles to assure her. "I'm still recovering from that third wave. I just need to lie down for a moment, and I should be good to party for tonight."

"I can prepare some of my traditional medicine. It'll make you feel so much better."

"I doubt it," Coahuila scoffs. "Traditional medicine isn't going to cut it. What he needs is more people to get the vaccine."

She gasps, "Noooo! It'll kill him!"

"No, it won't kill him. It'll save him and a lot of people like you."

"Nope! Nuh-uh!" She stubbornly shakes her head. "The vaccine is cursed by the Devil. Anyone who takes it will die in two years. It's all a ploy by the government to hurt me."
