Takes place late 34ABY
After months of searching and dead ends Finn believed he had found her. He was going to fulfill his final mission from his former commanding officer. He had found Phasma's niece Frey.
Over fifteen years ago, after faking the girls death, Phasma dropped Frey, or Warcry as she was known then, off on the Colossus Supertanker fuel depot on Castilon in the Tashtor system. The only problem was that the Colossus had several ships landing and leaving it every day, and just before Finn joined the Resistance the Colossus itself had left Castilon and had gotten lost in space. Meaning Finn had to check every single planet, moon, inhabited asteroid, and station in the Tashtor system and surrounding systems.
The breakthrough for Finn had been when the Colossus itself joined the Resistance, making there records a resource available to Finn. He now had the ability to search all scheduled departure for the day of the invasion and the days that followed. Cross referencing those records with the places Finn had already checked he had a much shorter list.
Now he stood on Dohnia of Semagi sector, where fifteen years ago a girl by the name Ylva Keldo had arrived via a transport from the Colossus. She had not been a registered passenger but a stowaway, she was apprehended at the spaceport and put in foster care, he could only hope it was her. He know stood in front of her residence.
Finn had great tracking abilities, however he usually needed to know the thing or person to be able to definitively know where they are. So despite being able to sense a woman of the correct age behind the door, he still had no guarantee that this was her. Still he pressed the buzzer next to the door.
A man stood in the doorway when it slid open.
"May I help you?"
"Yes, I am looking for Ylva Keldo, does she live here?"
"Yes, is she in some kind of trouble?"
"What, no, I just have been set by a mutual acquaintance to talk to her and pass a message?"
"Oh, I thought you were an officer. Come inside. Must be a distant acquaintance if they don't know she changed her name almost a decade ago. Sugarstar!"
"Coming love!"
Finn stepped inside and a moment later a woman in her early thirties came into view. She was tall, with lightly tanned skin, long wavy black hair, light crystal blue eyes, and a little mole under her right eye. She looked very innocent on the outside, but her stance, athletic body, and fiery eyes told him she was a worrier just bellow the surface.
"Hello, I am Ylva Hextrophon, this is my husband Mon. How may we help you?"
"My name is Finn Shot, I was sent by a woman named Phasma, is-"
Out of nowhere the woman high-kicked him in the face, knocking him way off balance. As he tried to regain his footing she quickly spoke.
"Mon, grab the girls and run, I'll hold this First Order assassin off."
"Wait, I left the Order months ago, as did your aunt. Also, ouch."
She stood in a fighting stance, like she was ready to fight him to the death if he did or said the wrong thing, her husband looked really worried but also confused.
"Ylva, what in blazes is going on?"
Finn quickly realized not even her family knew the truth of her origins. If he told the complete truth right now in the presence of her husband he may make an enemy of her, and that was the opposite of what Finn wanted. So he waited for her to make the first move.
"If you truly aren't a threat, leave immediately. I don't want you near my family again."
He nodded and turned to leave, but just before he did he held out to her the hand crafted mask her father had made for her, created out of wood, small pebbles, dried sea plants, and feathers.
"She wanted you to have this. Goodbye."
She took it from him and he left. He did not however leave the planet as her last sentence stuck with him. 'I don't want you near my family again' why didn't she include herself? He theorized that after she calmed her husband down and convinced him of whatever excuse she came up with for what just happened, she would come looking for him. So he went to a nearby park and sat on a bench under a Dolina tree.
While he waited he noticed the round, ring shaped seeds that surrounded him that had fallen from the tree. Picking a couple up he observed that they could almost go over his finger, if the hole was just a little wider. The ringed seed was also incredibly durable and Finn suspected it would be even more so once dried completely out. He found the five most nice looking ones and pocketed them.
Frey, or as she goes by now, Ylva, approached and sat next to him.
"You aren't here to threaten me or my family?"
"No, I genuinely was sent here by your aunt after she defected, to deliver that mask."
"The Phasma I know would, and literally has, sacrificed everything she loved for power. To control everything she can and bring it to perfection, and if it isn't perfect, kills it."
"It is true that I do not know what she was like before she joined the First Order. But from what she told me she had an epiphany which changed how she viewed everything. Without her I would have never escaped the First Order, neither would have you, and the entire Resistance would be dead. That doesn't excuse her actions but it does make her not a complete homocidal maniac."
"So if she is so good now why isn't she here to tell me this in person?"
Finn looked down, he'd known he'd have to tell her, but it still hard to say it.
"The First Order killed her a few months back. The entire Resistance was cornered on Crait and she held and entire army off long enough for us to escape. Right before this battle she asked me to find you, give you the mask, and tell you that you meant the world to her, to the Scyre Clan, and to your father. That's who made the mask by the way, your father. He planned on giving it to you before he died."
She looked at the mask with brighter eyes. She smiled, as though reminiscing.
"This is the last remanent of my people then, as I am now the last survivor of Parnassos."
"That isn't actually true."
"What? But you said Phasma is dead, she and I are all that remain."
"What I have told you is all Phasma told me to tell you, however there is someone else who wishes to be reintroduced to you. She and her daughter survived over 25 years in a bunker under the planets surface. A woman named Siv."
"Siv's alive!"
"Yes, and she wants to reconnect with you. There is something else, she has a daughter, one only a few years younger than you, who may be your half-sister, you would have to compare your blood to be certain."
"A, a sister. This is all a lot to take in, and my family needs me here right now. But if I were to make the journey in the future where could I find them now?"
"We dropped them off on Rattatak which is in the Western Reaches of the Outer Rim. Siv is employed as a healer's apprentice and Torbi a farm hand."
They remained silent for a little while as Frey processed this information. Finally she stood, Finn did the same.
"Well I apologize for my rude introduction, I had to make sure my children where safe from the First Order. You have given me some closure to my past and hopefully the possibility to reconnect with some old family."
"I am glad I could help, if your family ever is in danger from the First Order use this to contact us and we will send immediate emergency help."
He handed her a hand held deep space transponder shaped like an old Rebellion token.
"Thank you."
"No, thank you."
"For what?"
"For letting me complete my final mission from my Captain."
