"I can't lose you. Not again."

The moment they arrived Katerina felt the grasps of anxiety clawing their nails in her skin. The Inferni was nervous about someone suddenly recognizing her. Before they left their hideout, she had gathered all her hair and put them under the hat. Her red hair would give her away immediately.

After successfully getting through the checkpoint the group was on their way to the skiff when something made them turn around. And there was the Sun Summoner.

Aleksander appeared from behind Alina soon after and Katerina managed to notice that he looked just like always. A disappointed sigh left her lips and Kaz upon hearing it turned to face the girl.

"What?"

She looked at Kaz before turning back to face the General.

"Good news? It's just as terrifying as I remember."

They all huddled at the back of the skiff in the shadows. Away from the prying eyes.

"Except this time, we're going in completely exposed."

A growling was heard from the Fold before them, and Katerina instinctively moved to the front of the group.

"If I'm meant to die today and either of you three survives, make sure I have an open casket."

"No one is dying today." Kaz was quick to answer. "No mourners."

"No funerals."

Katerina turned around with a raised eyebrow, directing them an odd look.

"You, guys, take this too seriously." Then the skiff started moving. Katerina looked over the skiff before once more turning to the group. "If anything happens, let me handle it. My fire is not Alina's light against the Volcra but it's something." She received a hesitant nod from Inej and Jesper, when turning to Kaz she saw his jaw was clenched.
