I ran my hair through my long wavy hair as I looked in the mirror. I had a nervous feeling deep in my stomach. Today was the semi final of Jack's fight and despite Nick and I's issues, I couldn't miss tonight for the world.
"Olivia, the cab is outside." Beth called from the hallway and I reached on to my dressing table and finished up my fruity cocktail can. I needed the alcohol to settle my nerves.
I got up from my stool and grabbed my black clutch from the bed and held it close to me. I met Beth in the hallway and she smiled at me. "You look smoking girl." She squealed.
I had spent the last of the money in my account on this outfit and shoes. I had to look good for tonight and it was more important than eating for the rest of the week. Not to mention this silly camping trip that we leave for tonight.
"Thank you." I blushed and we made our way out the apartment.
"How do you think Nick will be if he sees you?" Beth asked as we made our way over to the bar.
"He will probably have me dragged out kicking and screaming." I laughed.
"He will have me to answer to first." She twirled me around and we stepped up to the bar. I couldn't help but give her a disapproving look when she ordered us two shots each.
I chuckled as she looked at me innocently, "the boys are going to hate us in this car journey."
"Ten minute warning for the ring walks guys!" The bartender yelled over the bar.
"We should go down and get a seat." Beth took my hand that didn't have my drink in it and lead the way down stairs where all the boxing was held. I couldn't hide my disappointment when there wasn't any seats close to the ringside. "Don't worry, I got Brad to keep some seats for us." Beth pulled me through the crowd until we saw Brad in the front row.
"Look at these two smoking girls." He yelled out over the loud music. He gave Beth a hug and a kiss on the cheek first then me. My nerves were at an all time high.
"Be a babe, Brad and go grab us another drink for the fight." Beth rubbed his thigh.
"You literally have a full drink in your hand." Brad rolled his eyes.
"Come on, I'll make it worth your while." She said and leaned in and whispered in his ear. I watched his face change from annoyance to amusement.
"I'll be right back." He winked and rushed away.
I couldn't help but laugh, "How do you do it?"
She took a gulp of her drink, "Do what?"
"Get him to run around like a little puppy for you." I took a sip of my strong drink.
"That's what you call the art of seduction, Olivia. Keep the boy on strings and you'll control him forever." She raised her glass, almost toasting herself.
The lights suddenly dimmed and I gulped. Oh no.
Brad returned just as Jack's opponent walked down to the ring. The crowd was very mixed towards him which I wasn't sure was a good or bad thing.
My stomach felt like it was floating when I seen Jack emerge from the curtain. I felt almost a rush of adrenaline presumably the same feeling Jack is having right now.
I bit my lip as he climbed in to the ring in his blue shorts. I couldn't help but think of the fact we haven't been able to keep our hands off one another recently and I already couldn't wait to have my hands on him again.
The sound of the bell seemed to ring in my head longer. My fists clenched as Jack and his opponent started to throw a few punches back and forward, none making too much of an impact.
