I dropped my bag down at the front door and forced my tired body down the hallway. Brad and Jack definitely had me worked out. I had left them both at the gym to start their shift. Now I had to face the toughest test of the day. Beth. When I walked in to the living room, Beth was standing facing the window. "Boys all away then?" I muttered as I collapsed on the sofa.
She turned her head to look at me, "yep." She looked tired, exhausted even.
"Least you had a good night." I said sarcastically. I couldn't help but wonder what was happening to my best friend.
"They told me about what happened. I'm so sorry, Olivia." She said genuinely.
I wanted to believe her, I really did but she really messed up this time. "you took it too far, Beth." I looked to the floor sadly. I felt her sit down beside me and her arm wrapped around me.
"I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry." She begged.
"Nick gave me some money." I blurted out.
I looked at her and her eyes met mine, she was smiling. "Really? That's so good. We really need some bread and some-"
"To go back to London." I cut her off.
I watched her face drop, "what? Why?" Her eyes were wide.
"He just wants me home." I looked back down to the floor. Maybe it was the best thing for me.
"You can't go. I need you." She begged.
I stood up, the last thing I needed was her in my ear telling me what to do, especially after last night. "I'm going for a shower. I'm all sweaty."
I walked out the room and made my way along to the bathroom. I didn't have the energy to speak to her anymore.
I sat in the car park of the supermarket after just been in to get some bits for the flat with some money I had left in my account.
I leaned my head against the steering wheel. I just didn't know what to do. I was beginning to build a life here in Manchester, yeah I didn't have money and I was struggling for a stable job right now but this was my life here now.
That flat was horrible, there was never any food in it and it really needed some work to it but it was my home. London wasn't my home anymore it was just filled with horrible memories.
I sat up straight and turned the key in my car, I had made my decision.
I knocked gently on Nick's office door. "Come in." I hear his deep voice. I took a deep breath and pushed the handle down and made my way in.
Nick was sitting at his desk, sorting through bits of paper. "Hi." I muttered as I walked over and sat down at the chairs opposite him.
"I wasn't expecting to see you today again." He crossed his arms on the table and looked at me.
I reached down to my bag that was at my feet and pulled out the envelope and slid it across the table. "I'm not interested." I kept eye contact.
He rolled his eyes and picked up the envelope. "You're making the wrong decision, Olivia." He was angry.
"Maybe. I'm willing to find that out first. I'm not going back to London to play happy families anyway." I said quickly.
He shook his head, "it's for the best." He tried more.
"No. It's maybe the best for you but not me. Why don't you go back? You clearly want to?" I softened up a little. I felt bad that he feels like he has to be here because of me.
