I adjusted the white sleeves that sat half way down my arm.
I had been getting ready for around two hours and a half, I still didn't feel right.
My phone buzzed from the dressing table 'ready when you are x.' It was a text from Jack I assume and that was the second time my phone had beeped with the message.
No going back now.
Thankfully I had managed to convince Beth to go and see her friend tonight so I could get some space to get ready and come in without the fuss and questions from her.
I grabbed my silver clutch I had borrowed from her room and stuffed my phone inside.
Alright I got this.
I ran my hand over my slick down hair on my head and checked my teeth for any red lip stick for the one hundredth time.
I slowly opened the door, almost afraid for what is on the other side.
There he was, Jack was leaning against his door with a crisp white shirt and grey tartan trousers. He looked...good. Very good.
I watched his eyes look me up and down as I pulled my door over behind me. "Liv, you look amazing." His eyes wide.
I could feel my cheeks redden a little. "Thank you. You look good too." I said shyly.
"Shall we?" He held his hand out for me to go first and I carefully moved in the heels. It's been a while and I'm not too confident in these big massive heels.
We reached the bottom of the stairs and I took my car key out and unlocked my car. "It's okay, I'll drive." He said and I saw lights flash up on a little black car and he held a key in his hand.
"I didn't know you could drive?" I was shocked and we made our way over to it.
"There's a lot about me you don't know. I picked this bad boy up today." He said proudly and opened the passenger seat door for me to which I climbed in.
I watched him walk round the car and he got in to the drivers seat. There was something about a man driving that made me feel all funny inside. It was almost sexy if that's the right word.
I admired him as he started up the engine, "where are we going?" I asked and my stomach rumbled a little almost in queue.
"For dinner. It's a surprise." He smiles at me before the car began to move. I felt butterflies of excitement in my stomach.
Was this wrong? Should I be feeling guilty right now? Was it too soon for all this?
I tried to think of the smart thing to do and I mentally gave myself thirty minutes and if I still felt uncomfortable I would just leave.
We arrived at a little steak house around fifteen minutes later, a place I had never been before. "Wait in the car a sec." Jack told me after unbuckling his seatbelt.
I watched as he walked round the car and opened the door for me and I climbed out. "Thank you so much."
"You're welcome, Liv. I hope you like steak." He grinned.
