"Olivia, I've made you breakfast." I heard Jack call out and my eyes opened a little, trying to get used to my surroundings. I was in Brad and Jack's living room sleeping on the sofa.

I slowly sat up then remembered a massive detail. Jacks mums is in town.

I stood up, trying to find something to go on over my legs. As if Jack read my mind, he walked in to the living room holding some shorts.

"I-uh what time is it?" I asked.

"It's only ten in the morning. I made you some egg and toast." He smiled.

I reached out and took the shorts in my hands and pulled them up over my waist. I pulled the strings free before tightening them round to hug my waist.

He reached out and took my hand and lead the way in to the kitchen, where his mum was sitting at the table, sipping a coffee.

"Oh, good morning, Olivia. How are you feeling today?" She asked.

Better than I deserve that's for sure. "I'm feeling good, how are you?" I asked politely.

"Well, wait until I tell you, that bed of Jack's is like a brick wall. My back is in bits just from sleeping on that." She looked disapprovingly to Jack as she pulled my chair out and I sat down and he joined me on the chair beside me.

"Oh no. That's not very good." I sympathised.

"No, I know. So anyway, what's your plans for today, kids?" She smiled.

"Well Olivia's parents are coming in to town today and we're going to cook tonight for you all." Jack looked at me as he spoke. He looks so happy. The happiest I think I had ever seen him.

"I'm so excited for that." She replied.

"It'll be nice for you to meet Olivia's family." Jack nudged me a little. "You gotta eat up, babe. You'll be starving." He put his arm around me and I smiled at him.

I reached out and picked up my cutlery and cut off my first piece of toast. "Yeah I'm looking forward to it. It's a shame your dad and Dotty couldn't come. They just couldn't get the time off." She looked sad.

"Me and Liv were talking about coming through to Somerset at some point anyway so we will see them soon." He replied.

Her face lit up, "I would love that. I've spent so much time out in the garden fixing it all up, I have some lovely things growing."

I couldn't help but smile, she was infectious. The way she went off on little tangents and moments herself talking about something different.

"I can't wait to see Somerset. It looks so nice in pictures." I admitted.

"Oh, it is. You're going to love it so much." She grinned.

I ate up some more as Jack asked about Dotty's school life and if his parents had heard anything recently from his brother away with the army.

"Why don't you and I go shopping, Olivia? I really want to find something nice to wear to the big event tomorrow." She asked me as we cleaned up from breakfast.

My stomach dropped. Did she mean alone?

"Yeah I would like that. Jack could drive us." I tried to rope him in to it too. I don't think I could do this alone. What do I say to her?

"I'm sorry guys, I really have to spend my day in the gym getting ready for tomorrow." He looked at me as if he felt real bad.

"That's okay. I'm sure me and you can make the most of it." She dried a plate with a tea towel and sat it on the counter.
