"Wah so full!"

After dinner we cleaned up so Mei and Haru didn't have to.

The two adults turned in for the night followed by Samu but Sumu and I are both still up sitting outside on the dock with our feet in the water.

"I wish I could stay here forever.. it's so much better than home."

I feel Sumu's stare but I look ahead at the water.

"You shouldn't have to live like that you know, you can live with yer grandma or uncle so why do you still stay in that dump hole with that piece of crap.?"

I now turn my attention to my fingers and think about his comment.

"He's my still my dad Sumu, he has never hit me like he did my mom but his words are toxic. The worst of it comes from Karin his little girlfriend. She is both abusive physically and mentally but lately they both haven't been around much. I think their fighting though and staying out of the way is all I can think about. Sometimes their good with each other and sometimes there not. As for living with my grandma or uncle I don't want to put a burden on them. I have food in my belly, a roof over my head; I'm not happy but I'm making it. Also it's not his fault.. he's sick, not so much physically but mentally he is. I don't even hate him.. mama not once hated him.. after everything he did to her she loved him until the end. I refuse to hate him.."

"I hate him, he doesn't deserve you he should be locked up or sent far away. I can't stand stand it, I can't be there to protect you. If it were up to me I'd take you away from all that, I wouldn't let anyone hurt you, I'd marry you and give you everything you deserve.."

How sweet.. wait Did he just say-

"Y-you'd Marry me?" I look at Sumu who is just as pink as I am.. okay maybe not but he has a slight blush.

"You couldn't deny my protection then. I want you safe..ya know."

He takes my hand and enterwines our fingers. Smiling softly I lean against his shoulder.

"Hey Sumu.. I love you.. I'd gladly marry you."

I finally said it. I Love You

"I love you to n/n.." My heart skips a beat.

"I'm glad, so what's with this nickname?" I hmm towards him.

"Yer my n/n, it's a cute pet name." Sumu says

I like it..

"Whatever you say Sumu."

We become silent enjoying each other's presence.

*bzz bzz*

Sumu's phone buzzes in his pocket but he doesn't look at it.

I poke his side

"You got a text ya know."

He kisses the top of my head

"It ain't as important is this."

He's right, we should enjoy this while we can.
