Zuko's Baby Sister

Chapter Thirty Eight

    "Ardema!" I felt my body being lifted up and then a soothing feeling wrapped around my head.

    "She lost a lot of blood."

     "He had to of hit her hard. We need Katara."

    "I should have killed that child when I had the chance!"

    "Worst father ever."

    *short skip*

    "Aang?" I mumbled as my eyes opened. I noticed I was laying in my bed at the fire nation palace. My head was pounding and I noticed a bunch of chatter outside. I stood up and looked at myself in the mirror. My waist length hair was a mess and my clothes were just simple under garments. I looked around and noticed a dress on a hanger along with a note.

    'When you awaken, bathe quickly and put this on. Aang' I smiled softly and then went to my bathroom. I noticed the bath already had water prepared. I stripped bare and used my water bending to bathe myself quickly before drying off with air and using my fire bending to heat my hands up and straighten my hair I brushed it before adding lip color and then getting dressed in the outfit chosen for me.

   "Princess Ardema, come with me." I heard as I walked out. A fire sage stood with his head bowed slightly before turning and walking away. I followed him quietly as my dress lightly dragged on the floor.

    "Where are you taking me?"

    "You'll see Princess." I just nodded and followed him with my head down.

    "You look beautiful." My eyes met my brothers who smiled softly. "Aang has a good sense of style." I giggled and then hugged him.

    "He just knows what I like." I said before putting my hand on his inner arm. "Just like how I know you've got eyes for a certain someone." I said as we walked forward.

    "Who?"

    "You and I both know it's not Mai." He tensed slightly before looking away.

    "Come on." He said. I smiled and let him lead me away. I saw Aang on the floor meditating and smiled softly at how adorable he looked. His eyes opened as we approached and immediately locked with mine before my brother spoke.

    "I can't believe a year ago my purpose in life was hunting you down. And now ..."

"And now we're friends."

"Yeah, we are friends. And you're dating my sister." 

"I can't believe a year ago I was still frozen in a block of ice. The world's so different now." Aang took my hand and pulled me closer to him as he spoke.

"And it's gonna be even more different. We'll rebuild it together." I spoke. We group hug then walk outside.

    The palace was filled with people from the Fire Nation, the Water Tribe, the Earth Kingdom and the Foggy Swamp Tribe. As Zuko and I walk past a gong is struck. The crowd cheers at the sight of our faces. Zuko raises his hand.

"Please. The real hero is the Avatar." Aang walks next to me. "And Protector Ardema!" The crowd cheers louder then before as Aang turns his head slightly and kisses my forehead.

"Today this war is finally over!" My brother and I said together.

"I promised my uncle that I would restore the honor of the Fire Nation. And I will. The road ahead of us is challenging. A hundred years of fighting has left the world scarred and divided. But with the Avatar's help, we can get it back on the right path and begin a new era of love and peace." Zuko kneels down, preparing to be crowned Fire Lord.
