Zuko's Baby Sister

Chapter Forty

"Nothing says Happy 15th birthday like finding your mother. A week after your brother and boyfriend dragged you out of bed at the crack of dawn." I said walking into my boyfriends arms. He smiled slightly and then kissed my head.

"Happy Birthday angel face."

"Thank you love." I mumbled before kissing him softly.

"Noriko." Zuko said as he lead her this way. "Ardema." I looked over at them and then smiled with a slight wave.

"So my daughter...is the protector.."

"To good to go by Ursa? Hmph." I said before looking at the little kid running around. "Always thought if she left us what right would she have to have anymore." I said before stepping away and nodding. "It was great meeting you Noriko." I walked over to Appa and jumped on his head.

"Ema!"

"Yip Yip!"

*Aang's POV*

"She's still hurt." Zuko said. I sighed and bowed in apology.

"She was rude I'm sorry."

"She was 2 when you left mother..."

"I ruined my children..."

"She's strong now. She doesn't take it as if you didn't want her." Zuko lied. "She stepped up as Fire Regent when she was 13 and helped save the world at 12. She's brilliant Noriko."

"She's beautiful."

"I..Should go check on her." I said before opening my glider.

"Take me with you." Noriko said. I nodded then grabbed her, before jumping up and following the direction she went.

*Ardema's POV*

"Noriko? Really. You change your name. Leave your family. Just to start over with a new family. Why didn't you love me enough?!" I screamed punching a tree knocking it down with air before sinking to my knees. "Were we not good enough mother?"

"Ardema?"

"Why didn't she stay?" I whispered. "Or take me with her? We could've been happy together! I would've been happy!" I screamed my flames erupted from my hands as they pressed to the ground. I felt arms wrap around me and then curled up in his arms. "I wanna go home now please." I whispered. His arms tightened around me as I calmed down.

"Ardema?" Her voice sounded. I looked over her old eyes meeting my sad eyes. "I don't deserve your tears. I should've never left or took you with but if I'm being honest Princess I don't remember what happened or anything." I looked down and then gripped Aang's arm. "If I could have, whatever I done I would've never done that. Or I would've taken you with me. I'm sorry." I looked up at her and then closed my eyes.

"Noriko...there are so many things I wish I could say to get off of my chest. To tell my mother how I'm feeling but as far as I know, Noriko isn't my mother. Ursa is. I can't hate you or be mad at you. But I can't...I can't hate you..I can't be mad at you . I...I don't remember my mothers face outside of pictures or her voice. I was just a baby when we went on trips so I don't have any memories of that. I deserved that. Instead I got an abusive father and crazy sister who tried to kill me many times."

"Ardema.."

"I'm the greatest Fire bender to ever exist and the only problem with that is..I am completely broken. I am alone and hurting. But I try so hard to be happy and be strong because I have Aang and Zuko all these friends but..I needed my mom. I needed you Ursa."
