I stood outside the theater room as I waited for Momo to come out. She had an audition for the juniors dance club.

The summer right after sophomore year, she'd talked to me nonstop about it.

She says Mina wants them to audition as a pair.

I've watched them rehearse several times over the break. They were both so good.

But whenever they're on stage, I can only see Momo and no one else. Once she showed her sharp moves, it's hard to take your eyes off of her.

You can say I'm Momo's biggest fan when it comes to dancing.

(Or when it comes to everything, basically.)

I was nervously tapping my foot and biting my nails when suddenly, the doors of the theater room burst open.

I shot my head up and saw a panting Momo running towards me. The biggest smile was painted on her lips.

"I got in!"

I squealed, running towards her to meet her halfway with a hug. She wrapped her arms around me and lifted me up, even spun me around as we both laughed our hearts out in joy.

"I'm so proud of you, Moguri."

She smiled at me, putting me back down before kissing me on the cheek.

"Will you come see me at the dance recital by the end of the month?"

I nodded eagerly. Did she even have to ask? "I could never miss that for the world, Mo."

Momo grins at me wider, her hands reaching over to squish my cheeks playfully.

"Aren't you my biggest fan or what?"

I'm glad she knows.

I was only about to respond when suddenly, a familiar voice interrupted me.

"Babe!"

I thought it was for someone else– or I wished desperately for it to be for someone else.

Someone that's not my Momo.

But she turned around to face Mina, who was now walking towards us with the biggest smile on her face, and Momo's hands were quick to leave my waist in order to be able to hold hers.

"You were amazing back there."

I watched Momo squeeze Mina's waist lightly before she lets the latter lean in to press her lips on hers.

They both smiled against each other's lips.

It's hard to describe how the once dreamy tingles in my stomach suddenly turned into the worst feeling in the world.

And what makes it more resentful is the fact that — whether the good or the bad — it's still Momo that caused it.

It's only Momo that ever has.
