As you know from their last adventure Lila asked her friends Elina and Elliott Edwards to join her and her partner in stopping crime, Chary Charles, at their detective agency. Elina and Elliott happily accepted. Knowing how good Dr. Armando's henchman, the Spermatos, were at tying knots (which was one of the very few things that the Spermatos were good at), they knew that they would need to be better at knots as well.
"Well, I signed us all up for a knot tying class that for some reason has only two students, so we know how to tie knots better than Dr. Armando's henchman," Lila said to her colleagues after signing them all up for a knot tying class.
"So when is it?" Chary asked.
"One o'clock on Thursday," Lila replied. Thursday finally came. The members of C.E.L.E. left the house with their beloved dogs Connie and Patch, and drove to the class. They made it to the lesson and saw the students and the teacher, all wearing masks and black bodysuits/black coats.
"Welcome, my new students," the teacher said. He had a voice that made him sound as if he had a cold.
"Are you okay, sir?" Elliott asked the teacher.
"Yes, I am fine; get to your seat, Edmund!" the teacher snapped.
"My name is Elliott, not Edmund," Elliott said as he went to his seat. One student went behind Chary and Lila, and the other went behind Elina and Elliott.
"Now today, we are going to learn one of the stiffer knots there are," the teacher said. He took out some rope as well as the other students. The teacher showed them how to tie the knot. The students that C.E.L.E. did not know repeated the knot tying on the wrists and ankles of C.E.L.E members.
"So, can you untie these ropes on our wrists and ankles now?" Elina asked the teacher. Suddenly the teacher and the other students took off their coats and masks to reveal that they were really Dr. Armando and his Spermatos! After the members of C.E.L.E. gasped, Dr. Armando let out his terrible maniacal laugh and snapped his fingers to make his Spermatos pick up the members of C.E.L.E. by the collars of their shirts while Dr. Armando picked up Connie and Patch.
"Let. Us. And. Our. Dogs. Go. Right. NOW!!" Chary yelled.
"After we bring you back to my lair," Dr. Armando replied. Dr. Armando and his Spermatos left the building, threw their captives in the car, and drove off. During the drive, the members of C.E.L.E. tried to get out of the car by trying to open the windows and yell out for help. Unfortunately, even though they were able to open the windows with their elbow and kind of yell for help, Dr. Armando closed and locked the windows.
Finally, the car stopped. The Spermatos opened the door and picked two of our heroes by their collar each while Dr. Armando brought in the dogs. When they arrived at the prison area, they put Lila and Connie into one cell, Chary and Patch into another, and Elina and Elliott in the final cell and used many locks on all three doors, so it seemed impossible to escape. Dr. Armando let out his laugh, left the prison, and closed the door.
"Well, looks like we are about to see our last days on earth," Chary said sadly.
"Chary. Think positive. I came up with some ideas of how to escape here alive," Lila told Chary.
"What's the first idea?" Elina asked.
"We quote the entire 'Spamalot' play to make it look like we are just trying to pass the time, and for the final high note, we sing so high that the glass breaks, and then we escape," Lila replied.
"Okay," everyone replied, and then they all began reciting 'Spamalot.' The end finally came after two hours and sang "For this is the show, that ends like this," And on the word 'this' they sang so high that the glass on the windows in the cells broke. Unfortunately, Dr. Armando and the Spermato guards came in to see the broken glass after the glass broke.
"Spermatos, replace the windows and make sure they can't break with a high voice!" Dr. Armando yelled. Later that day, the windows were replaced and could not be broken with a high voice.
"What is the other idea, Lila?" Elliott asked.
"I use my hairpin and unlock the door. Then I get the others out, and then Chary punches the door down so we can destroy the machine that Dr. Armando has created," Lila replied. She pulled a bobby pin out of her hair and unlocked her cell door.
"Why didn't you just do that in the first place?" Chary questioned.
Lila then unlocked Chary's cell and quickly repeated that for Elina and Elliott. Chary ran up to the door and broke it down.
"What, how did you escape?" Dr. Armando asked.
"The old bobby pin trick," Lila replied. They then ran up to the machine that would change what knitting symbols and terms meant. Unfortunately, the Spermatos were able to grab Lila, Elina, and Elliott so that they couldn't stop the machine. However, Chary could avoid them, and during this time, she was able to change the controls to change the language of the books in Dr. Armando's lair into Igbo.
She then kicked the Spermatos, and they then let go of Lila, Elina, and Elliott. They grabbed Connie and Patch and ran out of the building. Dr. Armando had just started the machine, and when he realized that the language in his books had changed to Igbo, he yelled at the top of his lungs; he then destroyed his invention because it was now useless.
"Looks like now we are 3 and 0 with Dr. Armando," Lila said after they were back at home.
"Yeah, I think he should get new henchmen because his Spermato henchmen are some of the worst I have ever seen," Chary said.
"Are we still thinking of taking a knot tying class?" Elina asked.
"Well, thinking about what happened with the last one, probably no," Lila replied.
"Wait, didn't we leave our car at the class?" Elliott asked.
"Oops," Chary said. They then put Connie and Patch on their leashes and returned to the class to get their car back.
