Meeting a New Enemy

After getting their car back from the class they took earlier that day, the members of C.E.L.E., Connie, and Patch were back at home when there was a knock on the door. Lila left her seat and opened the door. Outside there was a man that was a little taller than Elliott and had brown hair.

"Hello. My name is Felix. I just moved in a few houses down from yours," the man said. He had a mild British accent.

"Hi, I'm Lila. Would you like to come in for something to drink?" Lila asked as she shook his hand.

"I would like to come in and meet your household, however, do not worry about giving me something to drink," Felix replied. He then went inside the house and into the room where everyone else was.

"This is Chary, Elina, and Elliott, and these are Connie and Patch, our beloved dogs," Lila said to Felix. After Lila had introduced Connie and Patch, they came up to Felix and, for some unusual reason, started barking, scratching, and biting at his ankles.

"Connie, Patch, stop clawing, Felix! He is our new neighbor and our guest," Lila yelled at the dogs. When the dogs didn't stop, she grabbed Connie while Chary grabbed Patch.

"I apologize. Our dogs usually don't act like this," Chary explained.

"Well, hello then," Felix said to the dogs. He held out his hand to shake their paws. However, when he held out his hand to the dogs, Connie tried to scratch his arm while Patch attempted to bite it.

"Connie, what made you do that?" Lila asked Connie, kind of angrily.

"Same for you, Patch," Chary told Patch. Felix stayed for about 10 to 15 minutes, where they learned a little more about him. Felix then left and probably went back to his new home.

"Connie and Patch, I am very disappointed with you. Why were you so mean to Felix, a man you never met before?" Lila scolded the dogs after Felix left.

"Have they ever acted like that?" Elliott asked.

"No. In fact, Connie and Patch are usually excited to meet someone new," Chary replied.

"Well, usually when they are around Dr. Armando, someone evil, they are not very nice. But Felix just moved here; why were they acting like that?" Lila added. Suddenly another one of Chary and Lila's neighbors came by panting.

"Laura! Are you okay?" Lila asked her panting neighbor.

"For some reason, today when I was trying to bake a cake, the secret cake recipe that I always make and turns out perfect turned out really wrong. The cake was quite dry, it was also super dense, and the frosting was very chunky and salty. That has never happened," Laura replied.

"What happened before you began to bake the cake?" Chary asked.

"Well, today the new guy came by, and after he left, I decided I would bake a cake and bring it to him, but then it turned out so wrong," Laura replied.

"Hmm... interesting, but we need to pack our bags for our vacation that we are going on in a few days," Elina said because she and Elliott were going to visit their family to celebrate a special occasion.

"Sorry that we can't help you today, Laura, but it was nice seeing you again," Lila told Laura. Laura left, and then after she went back home, Elina and Elliott started packing for their trip.

Two days later, Elina and Elliott went out of town for their trip. After they left, more of their neighbors came to their house and said that a person in black came to their home, pat them on the head, went his separate way, and when they tried to do something that they were naturally gifted in, it turned out wrong.
