After Lake Superior was safe again, the members of C.E.L.E. and their dogs were at home. Warm weather had finally come, so Lila decided to go for a walk. She was walking for about ten minutes when she felt herself being knocked out!
"Doesn't seem like Lila would be gone for this long. I should go out and see where she is," Elliott explained.
"The dogs and I'll come with you as well," Chary added. So Elliott, Chary, and the dogs went outside, hoping to find Lila. The two then went in different directions, each taking one of the dogs.
Elliott and Connie were searching for Lila for about 30 minutes when they felt themselves being knocked out by a hooded figure!
Meanwhile, Chary and Patch were also knocked out but didn't see who knocked her out or who was there.
When Elliott woke up, he looked around and learned that he was tied up in a rope attached to the waist of the hooded figure that had knocked him out. The two then arrived at a bridge.
"Now, I shall do what my master has told me to do and kill you," the person with the hood told Elliott with a threatening voice. She had a familiar voice.
"Do I know you?" Elliott asked.
"No, why would you?" the hooded girl replied.
"You sound familiar. Can you please take off your hood?" he explained.
"No," she replied. However, because it was windy, the hood from the cloak Elliott's captor was wearing blew off to reveal her identity.
"Lila?!?!?!" Elliott asked for the girl with the cloak was Lila, except her eyes were lime green rather than emerald green.
"My name is Lola, and I hope you're ready for your doom," Lila (who was now Lola) replied, with her voice sounding threatening.
"But your name is Lila, and you know me," Elliott pointed out.
"No, we don't," she replied.
"We were in middle school together, and you were one of my best friends!" Elliott explained.
"Nice try," Lola replied.
"You invited me to work with you and one of your best friends!" he tried to explain.
"You know, you're kind of just irritating me, so I'm just going to do what my boss ordered me to do and drop you off the bridge!" Lola yelled.
"What about the dog, Connie?" he asked.
"I'm thinking of keeping him," she replied as she showed Connie who was in her cloak.
She threw Elliott over the bridge. However, when she let out a maniacal laugh, she realized that he stopped falling. She looked over the ledge. However, because she didn't remember to cut the rope connecting her to Elliott, she fell into the river with Connie.
In the river, Lola's eyes turned emerald green again, her memory cleared, and she turned back into Lila. So she quickly swam to the ledge of the river and pulled Elliott (who was still tied to her) out as well.
"Elliott, are you okay?" Lila asked once out of the river.
"I'm fine," Elliott replied.
"Good to know that you are alright. I'll tell you what happened. So- wait, where's Connie?" Lila said as she realized that Connie was missing. Suddenly, a small white fluff ball came out of the water.
"Connie! Come here!" Lila yelled to Connie as he swam to the ledge of the river.
"Are you okay? I'm so sorry about that! I promise that I will never do this to you again, my little baby," she told Connie as she hugged and cuddled him.
"So you were more concerned about your dog that was actually doing okay out there than me, who was tied up and almost died?" Elliott asked, feeling a little insulted.
"Hey, he can't swim well!" Lila pointed out.
"So what happened?" Elliott asked.
"Well, I was going for a walk, but I was knocked out. The next thing I remember was being evil and that I wanted to kill you guys and was named Lola," Lila exclaimed.
"What should we do now?" Elliott asked.
"We should find Chary and Elina," Lila replied.
"Can we get unattached first?" Elliott asked. Lila felt around her pockets, looking for something she could use to cut the ropes.
"Unfortunately, my pocket knife must have fallen out when I was in the river, so for now, we will need to be tied together until we can find something to cut the rope with," Lila exclaimed.
"You should probably take the cloak off, though," Elliott suggested.
"I think I will keep it on, it's quite warm, and besides, if we run into an enemy, it would be less likely for someone to attack us," Lila replied. So, Lila, with Elliott tied to her and Connie in her arms, walked through the forest.
"See, there's no problem with me wearing this- ahh!" Lila pointed out to Elliott just before the two of them and Connie were attacked by someone who came from the trees.
"Hey! Stop attacking us!" Lila yelled at the attacker.
"Not until you release my brother!" the attacker replied.
"Elina?" Lila asked. When the dust settled, Lila learned that Elina was the attacker.
"Sorry, I thought you were an enemy," Elina apologized.
"I told you that you shouldn't have worn the cloak," Elliott said with an 'I told you so' voice.
"So, do you know where Chary is, though?" Lila asked.
"Well, she and Elliott went out to find you after you disappeared. However, when they didn't come back after the sun had set, I knew that they must have gone missing as well. So I went out to search for all three of you," Elina replied.
"That must mean that Chary is still missing! We need to find her," Lila proclaimed. So after Elina united Lila and Elliott, they went down the path and the direction that Chary had gone before she disappeared.
"Oh, my gosh! Chary must have been kidnapped!" Lila pointed out, for she had seen Chary's coat.
"Follow the footprints then!" Elina said. So they followed the footprints in the forest. The footprints led to a building in the woods.
"Shall we go in?" Elliott asked.
"If it means finding Chary, yes," Lila replied. So they went into the building, which was beginning to fill up with water for some reason.
"Guys, do your legs feel wet?" Elina asked.
"They sure do," Lila replied.
"Ditto," Elliott added.
"Why does it feel wet in here?" Elina asked.
"There is no time for questions. We need to find Chary and Patch quickly!" Lila exclaimed. They searched the building as fast as they could.
"Guys, I think that this is the place that the water is coming from," Elina explained. She opened the door, and a lot more water came out! The force was so dominant that it knocked Lila, Elina, Elliott, and Connie out of the building.
"It looks like we found the place where the water was coming from!" Elliott yelled as the water carried them out of the building. Suddenly, they saw Chary and Patch coughing and soaking wet.
"Chary, you're alive! What happened?" Lila exclaimed.
"Well, after I went out to look for you, I felt myself being knocked out. When I woke up, I found myself locked in a room with Patch, and the water level was rising!" Chary replied. So with all of the members of C.E.L.E. being safe and sound, they were able to go home.
