Amity Pov:
We spent a few hours watching multiple human movies. To be honest, I think my favorite out of all of them had to be the one with the cool looking dragons, my favorite dragon being a pretty white one. It looked similar to the black one who had bonded with its rider, and had a pretty sad ending to the trilogy.
I looked over to the others who were huddled together, entranced by the entertainment. It was supposed to be a horror movie, but it wasn't that bad.
"No no, don't go into the basement! DON'T GO INTO THE BASEMENT!!"
"Gus, they can't hear you, it's not real-" Willow huffed out, though she seemed just as into it as the others were. Huddled up against him as they hugged each other with anticipation.
Everyone watched as the woman cautiously went down stairs towards the basement, and I could feel myself growing anxious. But I would never admit that. When she reached the bottom, she shined her light around the room, gasping and quickly whipping around as the door shut behind her. It made us all jump with a unified gasp. She called out a timid hello, before turning back around to face what looked like a tall man with a white head and no face, tentacles sprouting from his back. Everyone in the room let out high pitched screams, me included, and I clutched onto the nearest person near me.
"Gee Ams, didn't know you were scared so easily~" Luz smirked smugly down at me as I quickly pulled away, my face and ears on fire. Though I could've sworn I saw a tinge of red on her features as well.
"I-Im not! I just- wasn't prepared is all-" I stammered, mentally hitting myself as my arms crossed. Why did I have to be meeeee?
"Mmhmmm, sure~" She giggled, my ears twitched at the melodic sound. I couldn't help but steal a glance back at her.
Why did she have to be so cute?
I could practically feel my siblings staring at us, slowly turning towards them with a glare. "Don't. You two. Even. Dare..." I hissed through my teeth.
"Pff, whaaaat? We weren't gonna say anything... yet-" Edric snickered, along with Emira at his side, then was glomped in the face as I threw a pillow at him.
"I don't need you two patronizing me-!"
"Awww, c'mon mittens~ We're only teasing." Emira giggled. Ugh. I hated that nickname... at least when they used it.
"Oh shut it."
Suddenly, a loud buzz caught my attention, looking down at my scroll. It was Mother. Why the hell was she trying to call me at this hour? She must've gotten home earlier than I thought she was going to. No. I was done with her. After waiting so long for Luz to return, I finally had the chance to be... happy. With a click of a button, I sent her to voicemail, though I'd probably be reaping the consequences later..
Emira was the first to notice, scowling. "This nagging bitch..." She muttered under her breath.
I saw Luz out the corner of my eye look at me with concern. "Everything.. Alright?" I gently smiled back. Luz was always so caring and kind, one of the many reasons I liked her.
"Y-Yea... just- mom troubles.." I felt my ears droop, pulling up my knees to hug around them. I guess she felt bad for me, cause the next thing I knew I felt her hand gently place along my shoulder. Which made me jump just the slightest bit. We did just watch a horror movie after all.
Glancing up, I was met with the most sincere and warm expression. Something that Mother was incapable of.
I mentally laughed at myself for that one.
