A/n: Hello everybody! Today is August 27, 2021. Sorry that updates are coming out so sporadically- I'm adjusting at school, which is going fantasticaly, by the way! Some people there are being difficult and my sister left for college again, but the school itself is the perfect fit for me.
"Anything?" Mobius asks, all three of them rapidly flipping through case falls.
"Uh... It's not the climate disaster of 2048. Or the tsunami of 2051," Loki says.
"Let's go. Let's go. Come on," Y/n mutters. "2050. The extinction of the swallow... Is that a thing?"
"Completely screwed up the ecosystem," Mobius nods solemnly. "Krakatoa erupted in 2049 as well. No Kablooie."
"God, it's just one damn thing after another, isn't it? Cyclone, famine, volcanoes, floods..." Y/n groans, slamming down on a case file.
"Got him! That's where he is," Loki announces proudly, pointing to a file.
"Alabama, 2050. You're gonna take my job if I'm not careful," Mobius smirks approvingly before walking them all to the waiting room outside of Judge Renslayer's office. They wait patiently for him before he comes out, clearly in a excited rush. "Okay. We're on. We are doing some good work today."
"I thought so too," Loki says smugly.
"I'm tellin' you. You guys actually help us catch this Variant, and who knows, my friends," Mobius hints.
"What, good enough for a face-to-face with the Time-Keepers?" Y/n asks, intrigued.
"I didn't say that. One step at a time. Just in case," Mobius warns as they gather in a locker-room type of area.
"Gather around for a briefing," B-15 orders to them and the various MinuteMen. "Roxxcart is a vast superstore common to the era. It consists of a series of sprawling sections, including a large warehouse. This warehouse is being used by civilians as a shelter tryin' to ride out the storm. Remember, this is a class ten apocalypse. While the Variant shouldn't know we're coming, they could be hiding anywhere and should be considered hostile. So stay alert."
"Every time there is an attack, the Variant steals a reset charge. They're planning something. We just don't know what. So keep an eye out for the missing charges, and if you see someone that looks like those two, prune it," Mobius orders, gesturing a little harshly at the couple.
"The bad one, preferably," Y/n grins, linking hands with Loki and turning on her heel to follow Mobius and B-15 through a portal. Immediately they march out into the pouring rain, thunder and lightning hammering mercilessly at the area around them.
Y/n and Loki glance at each other before looking up into the sky, scanning it for some sight of...their brother.
"Anything?" B-15 asks a MinuteMan, observing his TemPad.
"Nothing yet."
"Move out!" She barks, having everyone rush inside the store. Loki and Y/n sigh, simultaneously crooking their necks as their clothes dry immediately.
"The hell was that?" B-15 asks, bewildered.
"That was us using magic to dry our clothes. So we don't announce ourselves with every squeaky footstep like the rest of you," Y/n deadpans.
B-15 rolls her eyes. "Take both teams and sweep the storm shelter," she orders.
"The happy couple and I are gonna check out the Green House. We'll meet..." Mobius trails off.
"No," B-15 says.
"No?"
"You go with D-90. They stays with me," B-15 gestures.
