TW: Hints at torture, dissociation, slight gore but it isn't bad

The time passed all too quickly, and before Hunter knew it the Day of Unity was two days away.

He'd spent his time uselessly, wandering the castle feeling almost like an ancient ghost haunting the halls rather than a real living and breathing person.

And it was time to visit Luz and Eda. Both of them this time, not just Luz. Even if Luz was screaming at him again, he had to visit Eda at least once. And maybe check on King and his whereabouts.

He should probably do that first. Give Luz and Eda an answer on that. He owed them that much.

It was fairly easy to find where he'd been taken. He'd been marked as a harmless animal of unknown species without an ability to speak.

Well that was wrong. Luz had told Hunter that King was able to do a sort of sonic boom, and he could very obviously speak.

Upon doing more research, he found that King had been taken to an animal shelter and was currently missing. It was fairly easy for Hunter to figure out what had happened.

King had pretended to be unable to speak or use any magical abilities so he wouldn't be arrested and could be put in a low security facility. That way he'd have no problem escaping and could potentially go about helping Eda and Luz to escape.

This was a security issue. He should send out a bounty for him and order a few troops of scouts to try and find him! The Day of Unity was only a couple days away and they could not risk King messing it up!!

But... maybe he owed it to the small demon to let him go. Hunter doubted that King would make it very far into the castle's security, and even then it wasn't King who saved his life.

It was Eda and Luz, who he'd essentially already guaranteed death. He owed them his life so maybe he could let King off the hook.

Maybe he should free Eda and Luz too. He owed it to them. If he could get them to promise not to fuck with the Day of Unity then one free witch and a human couldn't do that much harm...

But Belos- he owed Belos everything!!

But he owed the same to Luz and Eda. He owed them big time and all he'd done to repay his life debt was get them in prison to be petrified and let King go free.

He owed them this.

He owed Belos making sure they wouldn't interfere with the Day of Unity but if he freed them his debt would be repaid and he could go back to normal.

He'd get them out of the dungeon and then they were on their own. That was it. That's all he would do.

It was nighttime and he was wearing a stolen scout uniform. So far, by deepening his voice and changing his tone, he'd gotten by unrecognized so far. He had used a note with his own signature to visit Luz and Eda with no questioning and no one listening in on their conversation.

He jumped when the door slammed shut behind him, closing him into the small cell block with the two prisoners he was searching for and empty cells.

He took a deep breath and made his way towards where the guards had said Eda was, finding her heavily chained and bloody.

"Oh my titan, what do you want now?? I told you where I got all the illegal shit!" Hunter was taken aback, but he ignored the sick feeling in his stomach and lifted his mask.

"Look Eda, I'm going to get you and Luz out of the dungeon okay? But then you're on your own! I can't help you further than that!" Eda stared wide eyed before smiling.
