He got down on one knee then got something out of his pocket. He opened up a ring box to show a beautiful ring "So Rebecca Alexander will you marry me."
"YES !" I said just as he finished the final bit of me.
We hugged each other close and then kissed each other like our lives depended on it. I was so happy. I could not believe I was going to be Mrs Shearsmith.
"I love you." He said hugging me as tight as he could. I kissed him again with the most amount of passion I could muster "I love you."
I took a couple photos of us. I wanted to tell everyone but I also just wanted to stay in our bubble. We sat down at the table and had some food. The smile on my face did not move.
"So is this the secret you have been keeping from me?" I asked.
"Yes. It's been so hard."
"I am so sorry."
He looked a little confused.
"I... I trust you to the end of the world and back but I worried you had some seedy secret."
He chuckled "I see. Thank you for trusting me so much. I trust you just the same. Nothing seedy at all. Just me sweating all day every day about asking you to marry me."
"It's ok. Thank you very much. So who's Stacey?" I had to ask it.
"It's absolutely fine. She is a chef she has made us the food. She did not want to give anything away that's why she was being so closed off."
"Oh." I felt like such a tool.
"Yes but I can see how it would make you think about different things." He leant forwards and took my hands in his then looked me deep in my eye. I braced myself "I love you. No one else. I will never leave you unless you want me to. I will always be by your side. I will always be your best friend. No matter what. I love you. I love you so bloody much."
I could not help myself but kiss him. I kissed him so much that he seemed faint.
