Chapter 7

Previously on 'When It Rains'..
     James is in for a rude awakening when he tries to listen in on his parents conversation, causing him to fall over the stair railing, putting him in a coma. Ocean has mixed emotions about James' condition, and later on finds out that Justin the mysterious caller is actually Justin, Aiya Jewel's brother ! Now, on to chapter 7...

Ocean Odega POV

June: It's WHO !!!!
Ocean: Girl Justin is Aiya's brother !!!!! I cannot believe this shit !! This is completely crazy, I wonder what she told him about me.
June: Obviously something bad, she said that you were the reason why James stopped talking to her. I don't blame him, look at you then look at her.
Ocean: Literally, but I mean its not my fault that my ex boyfriend is a cheating scumbag she should be mad at him not me.
June: She's a female, she doesn't know how to be anything other than mad at the other girl instead of the guy thats actually doing the damage.
Ocean: I know right, what's up with that. Anyway, I gotta get going, I'm going to a doctors appointment.
June: Are you sure you don't want me to go with you ?
Ocean: No I'm okay, it kind of lets me have some alone time to think.
June: Okay, I'll see you later.

......At the Hospital......

     I have my mom take me to the doctor and check me in. My mom stays in the waiting area while I go back to the room after my doctor calls me. The nurse says we're going to do an ultra sound and figure out the gender today ! I have been waiting four months to figure out the gender of my baby so I can go shopping. The nurse puts cold jelly on my stomach and starts massaging my belly with an ultrasound stick. The room goes quiet for a second as I strain to understand what I'm looking at. The nurse turns to me and says "Congratulations, you're having twins, one boy and one girl" and my heart dropped. Twins ? What the hell am I gonna do with twins ?? I can't even take care of myself let alone two babies. I started to freak out and froze up right after, and I think the nurse got scared because she immediately called for another nurse and told her to bring my mother into the room. Freaking twins, I am going to lose it.

Alaina Odega POV

     I'm sitting patiently for Ocean to get out of her doctor's appointment and suddenly a nurse comes up to me and asks me to come with her. I follow her and when we get to our destination I'm in Ocean's room and she's freaking out, for what I have no idea.

Alaina: Ocean what is the matter with you ?
Ocean: Mom, they said I'm having twins..

     I'm listening to her but I'm not sure I heard her correctly. Twins ? A seventeen year old with twins ? I mean technically she'll be eighteen when she has the baby... babies, but still thats a young freaking age to have two children, god really does work in mysterious ways.

Ocean: Mom did you hear me ?
Alaina: Oh yes I heard you honey, I'm just getting my mind together.
Ocean: She said its going to be a boy and a girl.
Alaina: Well at least its even.

Ocean Odega POV

    I'm still in shock when we get home so I decide to take a nice warm bath. Twins. A boy and a girl. Two babies. I'm so in shock I don't know what to do with myself. I find myself wanting to call James and tell him the news but I forget that he hasn't woken up from his coma. I also forget that I'm supposed to be mad at him for cheating on me, but I can't help but to hope he wakes up and soon.

After I get out of the tub I get dressed and I call June.

June: Hello ?
Ocean: Best friend I have the biggest news ever to tell you.
June: What is it ?
Ocean: The doctor said I'm having twins girl !!
June: Oh wow ! Twins ?! Girl how did you end up with two babies ?
Ocean: I have no idea.
June: Well, how do you feel about it ?
Ocean: I have really mixed emotions right now, I mean two babies !! That's crazy ! But also I'm super excited for the journey.
June: Well whatever you decide I'm right here next to you.
Ocean: Thanks bestie, that means a lot.

After I get off the phone with June, I wanted James to hear the news too even though he couldn't respond to me. I asked my mom to take me to the hospital and she did. I walked into James' room... well what will be his room for the next day or so until they send him home, and I sit kindly next to him in his bed.

Ocean: James, I know I'm supposed to be mad at you right now and I still am believe me, but under the circumstances, and due to the fact that you can't respond to me, maybe unable to hear me at that matter, I think its acceptable that I come and tell you the news, so if you can hear me, great. I went to the doctors office today and they told me that I'm having twins. I have absolutely no idea how to feel about it and I haven't even thought about the idea of how much pain i'll be in but for some reason I'm alright. I'm okay to know that I'm having twins and that the twins are yours. I'm okay to know that if you survive this, which I have a good feeling you will because you're a fighter, that you'll be a great dad too. I'm okay to know that if I break down and I'm unable to serve my duties as a mother that I'll have a great support system to get me through the day, the week, the month, or however long it takes me to recover, and know that the twins will be alright. I'm okay.

I want so badly to kiss his hand, making him wake up out of his slumber and tell me he's okay too like in the movies, but I know that wont happen, so I just tell him goodbye and I leave. When I got in the car with my mom, she looked at me and asked if I was alright and I looked at her and said... I'm okay.
