Minor Black Widow spoiler

Okay so I did some very basic research so I might still be wrong but I'm pretty sure that Natasha permanently lost her sense of smell after the Black Widow movie, so that's what inspired this fanfiction.

Most of the Avengers were out on a basic mission but Peter and Natasha were back at Avengers tower. It wasn't really an Avengers level threat so Nat decided to stay back at the tower and wait for Peter to finish school. It was rainy that day so Peter came into the tower soaking wet and chilled to the bone. He had lost his last rain jacket for about the third time and aunt may couldn't afford another. Peter knew he could have asked Tony but he couldn't bring himself to. The elevator opened and Peter stumbled out shivering in his hoodie and jeans. Nat stood up and looked at Peter as he dropped his bag by the door and smiled at her.

"Peter, where's your jacket?" Nat asked.

"I lost it, but I have my hoodie. Should we go train?" Peter said, his teeth chattering slightly.

"We will train, but after you warm up and eat something," Nat said, walking over to the kitchen. "Why are you so cold anyways?"

"Spiders are cold blooded, so ever since I got my powers I've been more sensitive to the cold," Peter gets a blanket and sits at the kitchen counter. "It's one of the downsides of my powers." Peter sighs and Nat begins to cook.

"One of the downsides?" Nat asked as she began to sauté some garlic.

"I have heightened senses, so I sometimes get overwhelmed in bright and loud rooms. I've mostly gotten used to it though and Mr Stark made the eyes in my suit to help dull my senses so that I don't get overwhelmed when I'm in the field." Peter was starting to warm up now and Nat was glad that he wasn't freezing anymore. She continued to cook as she talked to Peter. She didn't have powers, just her extensive training from the red room, she had her trauma but still felt bad that Peter's powers came with downsides.

"Wow, that smells amazing!" Peter exclaimed and Nat smiled wider. She exhaled with humour on her breath.

"I'll have to take your word on that," Natasha sighs, smiling at Peter as his expression changed to confusion.

"What do you mean? Is this my senses being extra because if so I've been giving away-" Peter is cut off by Nat apologizing kindly.

"No, I don't know why I mentioned it, but Peter, I can't smell anything. My nerve was damaged when I took down the Red room." Nat confessed and Peter relaxed, looking at Nat wondering if she would share more. She usually keeps everything to herself.

"I'm sorry Nat," Peter gave a pity filled smiled.

"It's okay, it was worth it, Dreykov is dead and I would do it again," Nat smiled as she placed a hot meal in front of Peter. "And Peter, only Clint knows about the details of Dreykovs real death so maybe don't tell anyone." Nat sat down beside Peter with her own plate. "We spiders got to look out for each other." Peter nodded and the two enjoyed dinner together and trained in hand to hand before the rest of the Avengers got back.

Short but sweet. Also I feel like the name of the story sucks so if someone could suggest a better name that would be great. Anyways I think nerves like the one Nat severed in the movie can't be healed so that's why I wrote this.  Finally, thank you for reading and please excuse my poor grammar, I didn't bother to read through this afterwards so sorry.
