This is mainly introducing her character but trust me when I say she'll have an affect on Peter Parker's life. One that I personally think will be worth reading and more entertaining if you also know the character. So let me now introduce you to Julie Brookes.

After Homecoming and Liz's move MJ had become way better friends with Ned and Peter. Now they ate lunch together and not just at the same table. Ned was rambling about some lego thing and MJ was reading her book. Peter was distracted by the new girl. He'd seen her around but she'd only been at Midtown high for four days. None of that mattered to Peter, what he cared about was how strange she acted and how being near her set off his spidey sense in a way that he'd never felt before. He wasn't sure what it meant, but he wanted to find out.

"Hey, what do you think of the new girl?" Peter asked, breaking from his trance and interrupting Ned.

"Dude, were you even listening?" Ned complains.

"Sorry Ned," Peter sighs. "The new girl is just so reserved and odd."

"Says you losers," MJ points out, not even glancing up from her book. "But all I know is that she eats lunch in the robotics lab, apparently she's a genius with machinery." Ned and Peter stare at MJ.

"You are disturbingly observant," Ned deadpans and MJ readjusts her position in her chair.

"No, I am just scouting out possible new decathlon members since you can be so inconsistent Peter." Mj flips a page in her book, casually. "Not that I would replace you, but I want a better alternate than Flash." Peter looks at Ned and then shrugs because you can't argue with that.

"Peter, why do you even care about the new girl? Just because she got Liz's old scholarship doesn't mean she's her." Ned groans and MJ smiles a little from behind her book while Peter rolls his eyes.

"You know what, nevermid." Peter starts to gather his things. "It's probably nothing." Peter walks away leaving Ned and MJ alone.

"So... you like lego?" Ned asked awkwardly. MJ finally looked over the rim of her book and stared at Ned. "Right, right." Ned nodded his head and began to push the food around his plate, wondering why Peter just suddenly left. Then Ned was saved by the bell.

Peter walked into training and was able to focus enough to not get his ass kicked. After the session ended Sam spoke up.

"Hey, not that I don't love showing my superior skills, but why are you so out of it junior?" Peter rolled his eyes at the older Avenger, ripping off his mask as he did.

"Just a new girl at school." Peter mumbles.

"You have a crush Peter?" Wanda asks with a smug smile.

"Tony, you're rubbing off on Queens. His girlfriend just moved away and-" Steve begins to tease when Peter cuts him off.

"It's not like that," Peter groans, taking a moment to compose himself. "She set off my spidey-sense, but it's different. Something's wrong but at the same time I feel like everyone is safe." Peter shook his head. This was bugging him way too much.

"You think she might be dangerous?" Vision asked, exchanging a look with Wanda.

"I'm not sure. Something's off about her and I'm worried." Peter sighed.

"What does your gut tell you?" Nat jumps in.

"I don't know, Nat. She just worries me."

"What's she like?" Clint asked after a pause.

"She's only been at school a few days but she's sort of a loner. Eats lunch by herself in the robotics lab, doesn't talk to anyone, and apparently she's some engineering genius." Peter leans against one of the walls of the training room.

"Maybe try to get to know her," Scott suggests.

"Yeah, and if you still think she's a threat, bring her here," Bucky says, swinging his metallic arm around.

"Yeah, we''l be able to figure her out if you can't." Nat patted Peter's shoulder and he felt the slightest bit better.

"Have fun on your first spy mission kid," Sam ruffled Peter's hair and he hit him away in annoyance.

"Just be careful kid," Tony sighed. "You can't be Spider-Man this time round." Tony was a little worried, but after all Peter had done while they were out of town, he had trust in the kid. Peter nodded to his mentor and went out on patrol.

The next day Peter pulls Ned aside and tells him he's eating in robotics. Ned understands once Peter explains his off, super-power related feeling. So when the lunch bell rang he got his food from the cafeteria and headed straight to the robotics lab. It was completely empty except for the new girl who was in the far back corner. She was wearing black hoodie with the hood up. The only reason Peter knew it was her, was because of the feeling that stirred within him. Her long brown hair was hanging out of the side of her hood and she had dark blue jeans on. Peter stood there for a second. He had more confidence when he was Spider-Man, but he wasn't Spider-Man right now. Taking a deep breath, Peter walked over to the counter/work area next to the new girls. He put down his lunch and grabbed an old robotics project of his, he moved most of his good work to the tower. The robot in front of him was something Ned had helped him with, it was meant to assemble a lego set on auto-pilot. Peter glanced over at the new girl's robot and frowned.

"What are you building?" Peter asked and when she glanced his way an instant smile appeared.

"Rude of you to not ask my name, but it's a remote robot that should essentially use these magnets to take all guns from the room. It's meant to help with unnecessary death, well, if it works." Everything she says, she says in a positive tone.

"Oh, uh, sorry. I'm Peter Parker and uh, you are?" Peter stuttered his way through the sentence and felt like an idiot. She only smiled back politely.

"I'm Julie Brookes," she introduces herself and extends her hand. Peter shakes it and smiles back at her. Julie seemed so nice and sweet, but Peter still felt off despite her kind nature. Julie started up a friendly conversation. As she talked Peter's doubt began to fade even though his senses didn't let up their warning.

"Once it's finished I don't know what I'll do," she sighed.

"What do you mean?"

"I'll have no way to test it, the school certainly doesn't have the right facilities." She laughed it off but Peter felt as if it was slightly forced. Peter thought for a moment. This could be some ploy to get into Avengers tower. As much as people thought his internship was false, some believed it wasn't and she could be one of them. The Avengers told him to bring her by if he couldn't get a read, so in a way this was a good plan whether she was trustworthy or not.

"I could talk to Mr Stark, I'm his intern," Peter clarified. "You might be able to test your robot there." Julie blinked a little astonished.

"Is there a catch?" She asked, but even with her smug smile, her tone was bright.

"No, but you seem nice and if you want you could come and eat with me and my friends." Fear seemed to flash across her face for a moment but if it was even there at all, it was quickly hidden.

"Sure Peter Parker, I can work on this bucket of bolts some time other than lunch." Julie smiled with a small laugh. Peter shook his head, grinning. Whatever his powers were trying to tell him about Julie, they had to be wrong. She seemed absolutely harmless.

Thanks for reading, I hope you are intrigued by her character as her mystery and why she sets off Peter's spidey senses in a way that he can't pinpoint the danger. Happy Holidays everyone, and I promise to post soon. Maybe I'll do an Avengers Christmas fanfcition.
