*takes place during the summer between Real and Safe
Cora POV:
I lazily watch Tim and Damian pack their gear into the car trunk. From my spot on the steps I can only see them talking lowly to each other. Tim is grinning like the cat that caught the canary.
He gives Damian a hard shove towards me. Damian shoots him a glare but walks over to me regardless. I smile at him, to which his face softens.
"Hello, Beloved." He greets.
"Don't you mean goodbye?" I try to laugh. Truth is, I'm going to miss him. He sits beside me with a pensive look on his face.
"I don't have to, if you don't want me to." He says, a small amount of hesitation coming through.
"Of course I don't want you to. But I understand that you have a mission to help with Dami. I can't ask you to stay." I allow an easy smile to rest on my features.
"Thank you for that." He speaks, bumping my knee with his. "But who said I would be staying?"
"So you're just not gonna say goodbye to me or...?" I chuckle in confusion.
"Cora, I'm asking if you want to come with us." He rephrases. I blink at him, his gaze averted from mine. A grin splits my face.
"Are you serious?" He nods. "Of course I wanna come! I'll finally get to meet some friends of yours." I say excitedly. He scoffs.
"I'd hardly call them friends." My grin widens.
"If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it is a duck." I speak confidently. He gives me an odd look that dissipates quickly.
"Tt. Go grab your things, duck." He speaks with a smirk. I roll my eyes.
"Sure thing babe."
And with that I race inside. I gather my things rapidly and then speed down the stairs. I stumble on the last step but that hardly slows me down. I think I've finally started to get used to making my way around this mansion.
The boys are already waiting in the car by the time I get there. I hop in the backseat behind Damian, who is in the front. Let's hope they can keep the fighting to a minimum.
"All aboard the Red Robin express, we'll be departing for Jump city now." Timmy speaks in an odd voice.
"Do you mean like you or the restaurant?" I ask sarcastically. He turns his head to look at me.
"What restaurant?" He narrows his eyes.
"Do you guys not have that here? You know, 'Red Robin, yum'?" I question. I hear Damian snicker.
"We do not. Is it, like a fan cafe or something?" Tim asks. I shake my head silently. He turns around and slumps in his seat.
"You're not popular enough to have a restaurant, Drake." Damian smirks at him.
"I mean, none of you are as far as I know. DC is a popular fandom but most people think there's only one Robin. And usually it's not even the same one." I say casually. Tim slams on the breaks, but I didn't even notice we started moving.
"What?!" They both shout at me. I shrink back.
"Well, DC it's self is this entire universe and you all shared the mantel and were commonly known to be secretive about your identities and you all have similar suits and your hair is black and-"
"Cora slow down." Tim urges, allowing me to take a breath.
"Sorry." I speak quietly. Damian sighs.
