Cora's pov:
It is taking every inch of my being to sit still. My family is fighting for their lives as usual, but this time I don't have a screen to separate me from them.
I am just meters away from the scene, but I'd be no help. Batman told me to stay put, and I know that they have this handled. If anything I'd get in the way.
I'm good at hand to hand combat, but they're fighting plants. I don't know how to fight plants. I could fight Ivy but she's very much above my level of training. I also don't have a lot of the safety gear the others have.
None of that changes the fact that I'm practically ripping out my hair over being sidelined.
I sit on my hands while I lean over the ledge I'm on. Past the grey brick, I see Robin slicing through the newly grown jungle with ease. It's actually a little calming to see him move like that. Not enough to make me completely chill, but I'm not down there with them either.
I can see Ivy getting frustrated. The bats are closing in, and she's feeling the pressure. My attention has been dragged from Robin to Ivy. I think the others are too preoccupied to notice that she's doing something.
I can't see what she's doing from here, but it doesn't look like her normal plant magic. Then again, I've never seen a fight with her in person. Maybe her movements just look weird to me.
I need to remember that each of them are capable and well acquainted with Ivy. If I said something in the coms it might make them slip up. But still, this is absolutely killing me.
I see Robin pull ahead, slashing wildly but with a noticeable precision. He clears a path to the green-skinned woman, leaving the others to fend off the plants.
I couldn't have shouted fast enough if I tried.
A thick yellow smoke surrounds the narrowing space between Ivy and Robin. With the way he was running straight at her, Robin got caught in the thickest part of the cloud.
No more sitting in the sidelines.
I fling myself off the building. The familiar feeling of falling grasps at my stomach, until the cord catches my descent. I saw which direction Ivy went, and I'm going after her.
I zip to the next rooftop over. A feeling of protectiveness floods my system, similar to anger. It drives me forward and far until I spot a shape below me.
I descend like an angel of wrath, my gun unholstered. The bullets may be rubber, but they're covered in weed killer. She has her back to me, and I take out her legs by hitting the tendons.
She barely manages to flip herself over to glare at me. I glare right back. I aim directly for her sternum and she grits her teeth.
"What was that gas?" I ask menacingly. She scoffs, her legs shifting but not moving by much. She won't be able to use them properly for at least a few hours.
"Your worst nightmare." She grins, obviously forcing it. I cock my handgun. I watch her flinch.
"I just want answers, you don't need to get hurt." I state, steadying my voice with everything I have. She seems to consider it.
"I heard the kid has anger issues. Have fun with that." Her grin turns real.
And with that, she stood up. Having already had my gun following her movements, I send a bullet straight to the side of her neck. This one didn't have any coating, but that just means I didn't have to worry about causing too much damage.
The rubber found its mark, and she drops like a crumbling tower. I am so glad I asked Alfred for medical expertise. I promised everyone a zero death toll, and I'm not taking chances.
