Cora POV:
"Well, other than the setback earlier this week, I think you've made incredible progress, Cora." Harley states evenly. I smile.
"Really?" I ask. She nods kindly.
"Absolutely. Tell me, who's my ex?" She grins. I take a deep, controlled breath.
"The Joker." I state solidly. She cackles gleefully.
"You did it!" She exclaims. I let out a small squeal of my own, a grin spreading across my face.
"I did it!" I shout. I stand up, just to do a little happy dance.
"Oh goodness kid. I'm so proud of ya!" She grabs the bars of her cell with a maniac grin.
"I'm proud of me too!" I state loudly.
"Alright! Enough celebratin'. Let's talk next steps mmkay?" She prompts. I nod eagerly.
"First thing you're gonna do, is go home. Tell your friends, if you're comfortable." She instructs. I nod.
"Next. Stay away from current events for tonight. Just take a night away from Gotham's gloom and enjoy some peace and quiet." She prescribes. I smile and mock salute.
"Can do Dr. Quinzel." I affirm. She nods decisively.
"Alright. Well, that's it for our session then hon." She informs. I stand, taking a deep breath once again.
I step forward, and I reach my hand through the bars. She looks at my outstretched hand for a confused moment.
"Thank you for working with me." I state. She grins, accepting my hand. Her skin is dry and her hand is cold, but it's nice to just shake her hand.
"It's been my pleasure." She replies.
I head home after that. The car ride is quiet between me and Alfred. It's truly going to be a peaceful night. I think I'll skip patrol. I won't even stand guard by the computer. If they really need me, they'll call.
Even with the feeling of peace, I'm buzzing to get home. As soon as Alfred brings the car around, I'm thanking him for the ride, stopping just long enough to hear his response.
I burst open the doors excitedly. I swivel my head to survey if anyone is in the general vicinity. Deserted. I don't let it deter me. It's only the foyer after all.
I walk quickly to the kitchen, and then the dining room. Nada. So I move on to the living room. Still not a soul in sight. I check the gym next. There's no one there, but there are also some empty weapon slots.
I head down to the cave. Finally I'm hit with the sound of metal on metal, and loud shouts. Oddly enough, that's what sounds like home now.
I skip happily over to my family. The familiar blurs of their bodies move around the training mat in quick bursts. Bruce is surveying and he calls out commentary on Jason's jab being too stiff.
"Welcome home, Cora." Bruce says, walking over to me. The boys don't stop moving, pushing and pushing.
"Hi. How's training night going?" I ask. He smiles a charming smile.
"They're doing well. Damian even asked Tim for some new staff techniques." He comments easily, turning to watch his sons with me.
"It's always good to learn new things. Broaden horizons." I state, watching a particularly tan blur slash against a staff with a staff of his own.
"My thoughts exactly. Did you want to join? Teach an old dog some new tricks?" Bruce asks. I consider it.
"Well, Harley said I should have a quiet night in. Keep away from 'Gotham's Gloom'." I mention. "But it's also training night." I grin. He nods and we move to a less crowded mat.
